Such a lovely host. Martin dearly welcomed me and made me feel at home. He was generous and descent.
The room was as described. Very comfy.
Close to Bray downtown and attractions and only few minutes from Dublin downtown with the car.
Definitely again and again and again
It is always great when you travel and get to meet a lovely, generous person with whom you immediately feel at home. From our first email contact with our host Martin to our final goodbyes to him and Bray, he made it all so easy and comfortable! Martin was the perfect balance of kind, helpful, and knowledgeable without ever being intrusive - a fine talent! He was communicative when we initiated the booking, he met by us car from the Aircoach stop at Superquinn Supermarket [although this is walkable if you needed to], and he made sure that we had all we needed to be comfortable during our stay. The house is great; a big stone house with interesting history, including Martin's beautiful stone work. The loft is up a couple of flights of stairs and has a super-comfortable bed!!! My daughter and I felt very cosy and loved listening to the rain on the skylight and the wind howling! [early January...]. The little ensuite bathroom was very clean.
We were traveling without a car and we enjoyed the short walk through town to the sea front [restaurants, bars, etc...] and it was easy and cheap to get a taxi back to the bnb in the evenings when we didn't want to walk. We just came and went as we pleased which was perfect. We had great chats with Martin over breakfast; he was super-easy going about us using the kitchen and also very kindly put out breads, butter, jam. Best of all, Martin LOVES good espresso - ME TOO!!! - and made us delicious coffee every morning! THANK YOU, MARTIN!!! Bray is a great town with good hiking, the beach, and some nice places to eat. If you are making the trip, we highly recommend Martin's loft!
We arrived fairly late and Martin was kind enough to stay up to let us in. :) Martin was very helpful in helping us find our way into Dublin. The bed was really comfy and we slept quite well after difficult travel.
The one thing is we would've liked to have our own door, and the room was a bit cold in the night, but everything else was great!
Martin was very friendly and set us up in a cozy loft in the top floor of his house, and offered some good advice on where to eat out. Due to a stolen passport my friend and I didn't get to explore too much of Bray, but Martin let us use his kitchen and provided us with a quiet place to rest.
Martin came to pick me up at the train station when I arrived and showed me around on the way to his place which is in a great area. The room is lovely and a bit unusual which is charming and the en suite bathroom is extremely handy. Martin is welcoming and it was a pleasure to talk with him over a fine cup of coffee.
Martin make us feel like home. On arrival he picked us from the train station which we really appreciated. We were amazingly surprised with all the lightened candles all the way to our bedroom where classical music was played in the background. The room is very nice with an ensuite bathroom and a mega masterbed, ultra comfortable. We were allowed to use the kitchen and had the opportunity to share a meal together. In a few words, Martin is a great host!
Martin was a really lovely host...friendly, welcoming and very proud of his home. Our room was beautiful and the bed was just the most comfortable I've ever slept in..ensuite shower and fluffy towels were perfect. All in all it was a great experience and we will be back for more if Martins hospitality.
