Saint Mark apartment
This apartment is located in the exclusive neighbourhood of San Marco, an area located in the very heart of the old town in which the most important noble families in Venice live.
Piazza San Marco is probably the best known spot in town, and it is so important amongst locals that it is said that everyone who lives in Venice passes beyond San Marco at least once a day. The wonderful square in front of the cathedral, full of children who feed the birds, souvenir sellers and cafés with live music (some of which are probably the most expensive coffee bars in Italy!), is definitely a must for those who visit marco Polo's town. As you walk around it, don't forget to have a look at the Palazzo Ducale (Duke's Palace) and its Ponte dei Sospiri (Bridge of Sighs), which joins the courtroom with the ancient jail. For those who are not scared of heights, we recommend climbing the tower, which overlooks the entire town and gives you the most spectacular sights in Venice. If you prefer not to get so high, you could go for a ride on a Gondola around the Channels!
This apartment is very close to the Vaporetto stop, and in a high area. Therefore, you need not fear the yearly floods (the so-called acqua alta) in Venice, for they never reach the apartment area! Connections to the minor islands around Venice (including Burano, Murano and Lido di Venezia) are also available.
This apartment has been recently renovated and provided with a wooden beam ceiling. It is located on the second floor (without lift).
The apartment includes one bedroom with a Queen size bed and one bedroom with two singles beds, one bathroom with a shower, a fully equipped kitchenette and a comfortable living room area that includes a fireplace.
This apartment is provided , a microwave oven, independent heating, AIR CONDITIONING, a TV set (TV only in Italian), a fireplace and stereo player.
The size of the apartment is roughly 60 square metres.
As this is not a hotel, there is no reception.
It is therefore necessary to fix a specific appointment for the check in, beforehan, in order to avoid long waits outside the apartment.
Please tell me, as soon as possible, the time of your arrival at Marco Polo Venice airport, or Venice Station.
And tell us your mobile phone number, if you have with you at Venice.
Please call, on arrival at the Airport/Station; and if you are delayed on the day of arrival, for the same reason ( (phone number hidden) )
Please note that upon arrival you will be asked to pay city tax.

A great apartment! The location was excellent - less than 5 minutes to the Rialto bridge one way, and St Mark's Square in the other (plus a supermarket just a few minutes away). The apartment was clean and kitchen fully equipped. (It would have been great to have had WIFI available but the listing made clear in advance that it wasn't) Overall would highly recommend Monica's apartment.
I recently stayed in this apartment with 3 other people. The apartment is very nice and more spacious than it appears in pictures. It is in a good location; only minutes to Saint Mark's Basilica and Rialto Bridge. Monica's communication was excellent leading up to our stay and she made sure we knew everything we needed upon check in. One towel per person was provided but only one roll of toilet paper was in the bathroom so you should bring your own as it is not easy to find a store nearby that sells it.
Hi Michael,I'm glad to know your stay at the apartment was good.
About the toilet paper there was only one becasue the apartment is self catering as you can read ,so the guests provide theyself to purchase the paper and every things they need during the stay at the apartment.
The supermarket "Punto" is just 2 minutes walking as I told you during the check in .
The Apartment between Rialto and Piazza San Marco is very clean and in a perfect central location. We enjoyed it very much. There is enough space for 4-5 people or a family. Monica is very professional and a kind person. unfortunatly there is no wifi but you´ll find one in a cafe not far away.
Apartment itself is very good, excellent location, clean, nice kitchen and kitchenware. But do not expect a lot of help from the host. She is very strict on check in and out time. She appeared a little late, was in a hurry, apartment was very dark and we ask to replace at least one bulb, she refused and in general, was not too friendly and didn't offer any information.
the appointment for your check in was fix at 15.00 and at 15.00 o'clock we arrived. Maybe you arrived at the apartment in advance and then you wait a few minutes .
So you absolutely wtite a big lie.
However, even in the past mail I wrote that the check in is possible from 15.00 unless otherwise agreed , if possible .
We've given you all the required information regarding your stay in Venice , where to go and what to see . So you write an other lie.
I'm sorry you had this impression of me, you was probably altered because most wanted light of what is there but this was a problem only for you because the light in the apartment there is definitely more than enough and nobody ever complain about this .
The bulb was at full power and to get even more light I would have to make a new plant electrician , which certainly does not in half an hour and that is not absolutely necessary in this apartment.
We had an excellent 3 nights in the Saint Mark apartment. The location could not be more perfect for visiting sites in Venice! The apartment was clean and everything was in order. Alessia was so helpful in checking us in, and the communication was great with Monica. We had 4 people and slept comfortably in the apartment. Overall a great experience, and I can highly recommend the apartment.
Excellent location, close to Plaza San Marco & Rialto. Apartment size ok for four people. Good size fridge and kitchen well equipt. Beds comfortable with plenty of spare bedding. Apartment clean and well presented.
Monica is very professional and responsive. Instructions are accurate. The apartment is well situated, quiet enough and near all attractions. A/C worked well however a bit small to reach all rooms.appropriately in a day with 38 Celsius! There are 5 beds, 4 real, sturdy beds; one foldable day bed, a bit soft but will do for a kid. There is a bit of humidity but I guess that is part of Venice. Supermarket and nice coffee is nearby. If you want less touristy crow, head north of the apt; for more crow, head south. Worth the visit.
The apartment is extremely well located, clean and adequately appointed with all necessities. These are sometimes a little scruffy or minimalist, but adequate. The toaster featured in the photo of the kitchen is no longer there, no spare light bulbs were found for the one that had burned out in the living room (but we didn't trouble the host either, and could have done), the bedside lamps in the master bedroom are no longer the red ones as in the photo, there is an extra armchair and newer slipcovers on the sofa.
Four people are very comfortable (especially the two in the master bedroom, though the mattress like elsewhere in Italy is in fact two twin mattresses in a double frame), five a little less, and six would be tight but possible. TV only Italian channels, and no wifi (nor did we easily find any free wifi accessible nearby, and our vacation did not suffer from it). There are six chairs possible to assemble around a table otherwise for four.
A nearby supermarket that Monica showed us how to get to allows one to use a well-equipped if of necessity small kitchen to its best advantage. The pedestrian street was not noisy by our standards, over the first of November weekend (double-paned windows) but there were heavy sleepers among us and few walkers at night. Some noise from building, not excessive. Secure touristy neighborhood. No particular suggestions as to what to do, where to shop - aside from groceries (which was welcome), or otherwise how to make do in this city - a local series of internet printouts in a binder would have been helpful, but previous guests had left some guidebooks.
Monica and a friend of hers whose name we didn't catch and whose relation to her and the rental was unclear, were on time for the keys. No unexpected charges were made. Shower pressure is quite low, but the water hot and the central heating effective. What you see is pretty much what you get.
Sorry for the delay in writing a review still recovering from jet-lag. We all enjoyed staying in Venice. The apartment was in a great location close to everything. We walked everywhere it was very easy.
Monica is a great host she was easy to contact. I would recommend this complex to you. You will have a wonderful time.
This apartment is beautiful and in an excellent location in the center of Venice. We did not have a cell phone, and sent a message to Monica from the train station in Trieste when we boarded our train. We missed that we were supposed to let her know also when we arrived, and amazingly she showed up at the apartment just as we arrived! She gave a brief tour of the apartment and everything we needed to know about the place.
The water pressure in the bathroom was very good, with two different shower heads. It was also a large shower with full closing doors. The kitchen has everything you need for cooking, though we only stayed 3 nights so we did not use anything except a few wine glasses.
Also for being in the center it was very quiet, we slept in quite late one day even. It is up two flights of stairs, but even so we were pleasantly surprised with how quiet it was.
The only thing I missed was an internet connection, many of the free wi-fi spots we found required either a working cell phone you could receive a text message to. You can find spots at nearby restaurants that have truly free wi-fi though, you just have to get the security code from the staff.
It was a very nice place to stay and we recommend staying here.
