Thanks Diana for your feedback. We value it as it helps us continue to give the best possible service for the rate that we are charging. However we would like to clarify that past guest have brought their own food as we also provide a small refrigerator along with the microwave. Regarding the humidity and heat, Question: Did u turn on the dehumidifier? Did u leave the outside aluminum doors open? Some past guest have told us that it has helped to cool the room a bit by removing much of the humidity and the doors open helps. Notwithstanding , we are looking into alternatives & air conditioning is not totally out of the question. For now our concern is that with Puerto Rico's ridiculous electric rates (higher than any state in the US) the power authority will raise the electric bills through the roof, forcing us to raise our rates which is something that we do not want to do as our place is for regular folks, working people and youths who are on a tight budget. We don't have air conditioning in our own home, or in our car as well. we try & walk, and bike rather than use the car if the location is less than a mile because we are serious about leaving this earth a little safer for the next generation. Unfortunately, we can't do much about planes and Flights & what other people do, but we believe that our small contribution does make a difference to us. We advise guest and family when speaking to them that staying with us in the Cabo Rojo house is like sleeping out, like camping, except that we do have fans and a room dehumidifier. We also found that in the winter months the room is cooler. We are also looking into solar panels to drive inverters and if that works we might not have to raise the rates too much. But again, thank you for your feedback as it is the only way we can sustain our goal of providing a clean, safe and pleasant place to stay that anyone can afford.
