The Neighborhood

Located just two blocks from College Avenue, near Franklin and Marshall College, Lancaster Theological Seminary, Buchanan Park, and a dog park that needs to be seen to be believed. Zoetropolis, an independent movie house with a great vibe is just down the street, and the restaurants in the neighborhood are some of the best in the city.

Getting Around

The city bus stops a block away, and the train station is less than a mile away.

Other Things to Note

The guest suite tends to be a bit on the cool side in summer and winter. There is a warm comforter for the bed and space heaters in both rooms to keep guests comfortable.

In winter when it snows, off street parking is not guaranteed, as it is located off a privately owned alleyway that isn't plowed by the city.

Since this is a private home, and this quest suite is often used by the owner's family and friends, normal hygiene is required of all guests. If you eschew conventional bathing and deodorant, Airbnb might not be for you. Please discuss with the owner any concerns you may have about this policy.

This is a very quiet home, however there will be footsteps above you. If you are very sensitive to sound, the owner supplies earplugs which you are free to use.

The owner generally supplies baked goods upon your arrival as a symbolic gesture of welcome. There may be nuts, eggs, wheat, dairy in the recipe. You are responsible for alerting the owner if you have food allergies. In the event the owner cannot accommodate your food sensitivities, this welcome treat may not be offered.

Check out time of no later than 11 AM is firm, since other guests frequently arrive on the same day you depart. Likewise, check in time of no earlier than 3 PM is firm, since the owner needs time to clean and prepare for your arrival.

You should contact the owner a day or two before arrival to let her know when to expect you. She will either meet you at the front entrance of her home and escort you to the guest suite in back, or meet you at the back gate after you have parked.

If you are leaving at a time when the owner is not at home, leave the key on the hook inside the suite, lock the door from the inside and pull it closed.
