the pitoresque "Bondinho" passes our front enterance.
Totally relaxed and silent property on top of a hill.
the neighborhood is known for historical buildings and the trams that circulate in the streets, There is a gastronomic hub around the Largo dos Guimaraes. há uma impressionante vista, além dos acessos para o Parque Nacional da Tijuca e o Corcovado.
Come enjoy the best of Rio, and Santa Teresa has to offer ! !
you will always be wellcome !
You will live in a international little community, we expect to respect the privacy of others in our little colonial compound.
As we live in a colourful place, we also expect the total acceptation of iquality of the human race in all of its forms.
As we have a pool in the compound w'll suggest to use the pool as quite and respectful as possible to not disturb the tranquility of others around you. We do live in a very natural venue almost in the middle of RIo and centre of Santa Teresa, we like to think that people come and stay here for that reason and thats how we like to maintain it.
We were late first evening because we were coming from Paraty( and we were struck in trafic jam on our arriving in the city...)but Ana who welcomed us warmly did not hold against us of our delay .She was embarassed because there was no water in the kitchen and in the toilet and there was only cold shower (because of a problem in the neighborough). She suggested us using the bathroom of one of her other apartments who was free but we tested it and the problem was the same. That's true that we were a little upset because we were tired and after a hard trip we would have enjoy a warm shower...However we were so happy to arrive at Ana (and Ben but we didn't meet him because he wasn't there)'s place and so pleased to discover a so fantastic and amazing place, that we just hoped the problem would have been solved the next day and it is what passed. We were then able to appreciate the loft at (website hidden) is real Ana that I liked your decoration so much ,that's why I took so many pictures of the place...We also a lot liked the district Santa Tersa in whom we felt confortable and safety even in the eveningwhen we were in search of nice little restaurants.Hope so much coming again in this charming house.
Ana and Ben were great hosts and were extremely responsive before and throughout my stay. They gave me plenty of suggestions for things to do in the area and even bought some coffee for me. They were very accommodating to my needs for check-in and check-out as I could not check-in till late at night and had a late night flight out on the day of check-out.
The place itself is absolutely beautiful and has breathtaking views. Having stayed at the Sofitel in Copacabana before, I would choose Ana and Ben's place any day, and will definitely be staying there again next time I visit Rio!
very beautiful place : common space ( pool, gardens ), and in the appartement : decorated with taste, quiet.
a bit far from the center : santa teresa is "uptown", but very very peaceful place in such a big city as rio!
good welcoming of ana( check in and check out).
This is an exquisite, one of a kind property located in arguably the most beautiful and interesting neighborhood of all of Rio. Ben and Ana have created a stunning oasis that continued to amaze and delight us every single day of our one week stay. We can't exclaim enough the simple beauty and style of this apartment and its surrounding, including the fantastic views of the city. On top of this, the fabulous and genuine hospitality of Ben and Ana is just unparalleled. This truly was the stay of a lifetime for us and rivals any of the most beautiful hotels you might otherwise stay in.
We came to stay at Benoit& Anas for the Carnival
Ana's place is a wonderful haven away from the madness that is the Rio Carnival.
Anna was a perfect host, She made us feel very welcome
Unfortunately we didn't meet Ben as he was away .
The place had a communal feel and we got to know the other guests who became our friends for our stay, this really added to our Rio experience.
We can't think of a better place to stay in Rio.
Santa View is a uniquely interesting and characterful apartment in one of the nicest neighbourhoods of Rio. Santa Teresa is an enclave of homely sophistication that looks down on the relatively manic areas of Centro, Lapa etc. It blends a faded elegance with a welcoming atmosphere. It is a tranquil neighbourhood with some busy hotspots. It is a safe and secure area to wander around after dark.
If you like the pictures on the Airbnb entry for Santa View you will not be disappointed; the reality is exactly how it looks in the photos. The living area upstairs is airy and spacious with views on both sides. We had a drinks party with a dozen guests, which was no problem at all, and our five Brazilian visitors were very taken with our location and the charm and style of Santa View.
It is not luxurious, in fact it is pretty basic, but it was perfect for us. The adequately equipped kitchen is fine for unambitious catering - we cooked pasta and garlic bread without any problems at all. The bedroom is downstairs, which is a little cooler. There is no air conditioning, but this shady spot in the breezy, higher part of Rio isn't brutally hot. There are midges but their bites are fairly innocuous.
Our host Ben was putting the finishing touches to a swimming pool during our stay, and the garden is work in progress. Like everything else it is charming, but it does need a bit of finishing off.
Ben and Ana are excellent hosts, always ready to help with assistance and advice. We had a problem accessing the WiFi on the first day, and although he was busy with his mosaics in the pool, Ben jumped in his truck and got a new super-strength router installed toute suite. Ben is Belgian, but don't mistake him for a Frenchman because he is Flemish. He speaks fantastic English and about seventeen other languages, seemingly.
There is a number of rented apartments in the Santa View 'complex', but far from being intrusive it is nice to nod and chat to other residents.
Another bonus is the close proximity of the excellent Bar Gomez. They don't speak English but this didn't stop us from having very enjoyable evenings there with great beer, decent wine and tasty food.
Thank you Ben and Ana for a special week in Rio. Santa View was our haven from the heat and the bustle of the city.
An incredibly relaxed stay. Santa Teresa is a very beautiful area tucked in the hills away from the often mayhem of the main beach areas yet still very easy to .access all parts of the city. Both Benoit and Ana were very hospitable and helped in which ever way they could. I would definately recommend this as a place to spend at least a few days if not more in order to fully unwind. The place is very safe and secure and the views are excellent. Great bars and restaurants within a few minutes walk as well as buses(soon trams again!) to downtown with excellent transport link to the beaches and other main sites.
