Walk from this quiet residential area adjacent to the Garavogue River, into Sligo town which is home to the Fleadh Ceoil in 2014, and W. B. Yeats festival. So stay a while if you love traditional Irish music or poetry, or just beautiful landscapes.
Recently modernised 3-bedroom house with two bathrooms and stove in living area. Central heating throughout. The house is spacious and the room available is a very large bedroom with private bathroom.
The house is 2 minute walking distance to the lovely Garavogue River, a children's park and 'Outdoor Gym'. Also within 8 minute (literally!) of the town.
Sligo is a great base for getting to the sea (Rosses Point and Strandhill about ten minute drive, buses to both); and of course close to Yeat's most loved and written about locations. Great music, and hosting the Fleadh Ceoil in August.
Walking distance (about 15 mins) to train and bus station; local bus at bottom of street.
Breakfast served in the morning - nothing fancy, from porridge to scrambled egg, toast or just juice!
Interaction with Guests
We enjoy having guests and have hosted guests from France, Germany, Italy, Australia and Oman!
It's a quiet, residential area close to town with a short, scenic walk along the river.
There is a little, local bus to drops you close to the house if you're really, really tired... ;-)
Other Things to Note
We have a visiting cat (known as Berbi) who spends time in our living room.
Respectful guests welcome ;-) No smoking. We love pets, but not in the house (except for Berbi... see above!). Also, no outside shoes inside. We provide slipper socks if needed.
We stayed with Pee and her daughter, Niamh for 3 days and had a wonderful time! Pee is a warm, gracious, fun-loving host and she and Niamh made us feel very welcome and relaxed. Their home is cozy, comfortable, and well-equipped for guests.
The guest room is spacious and clean with a comfortable bed. The room overlooks a lane way and backyard so it is very quiet and we slept really well.
The house is in a quiet neighbourhood from which an easy and enjoyable 15 minute walk will find you in Sligo town centre. We loved this walk as it follows the river all the way to town.
Pee was readily available if we needed suggestions on things to do or just wanted to chat, but we also felt respected and could have privacy if we wanted it. We felt like Pee genuinely wanted us to have a good time and went out of her way to ensure it!
A lovely home with lovely hosts- an easy recommendation! Niamh even took us to a Gaelic football match- it was fantastic! Enjoy!
Pee is an extraordinary host!
The photos don't do justice to the room. The bed was wonderfully comfortable, the room was notably large and lots of power sockets to recharge my laptop, tablet, kindle and phone.
I was by myself, though the room would be more than bigger enough for a couple (which was my original intention).
Even though it was early October, the morning sun streamed into the room making it for a wonderful way to wake up.
Distance from the main shops and restaurants would be no more than a 10 minute walk along a delightful river. Extremely convenient when going out while also quiet & tranquil.
I only have a glow recommendation for Pee and her delightful home.
Patricia was absolutely lovely. We felt so welcome and she gave us some great tips on places to go and things to see. The room was comfortable and clean and it was a great stay!!
Pee was a fabulous host, very warm and welcoming. She helped me with transportation took me to a great place to rent a bicycle and made sure I got the best scones in ireland. What could be better.
We spent the last two days our holidays in Pee's house and was the Grand end. The room is lovely and large, super-comfortable bed and great bathroom. But best of all are hosts Pee and Niamh, they are really kindness and real people. We had really interesting conversations with Pee and we felt part their family. Thanks million for this wonderful time and the opportunity to meet you.
See you soon Paco y Yolanda 3
I had the pleasure of staying with Pee for a weekend, it was a Lovely experience in a Lovely Comfortable Home. She is a Happy outgoing person and the room was great as was the breakfast she made for us. Would stay again if heading to Sligo,

I am somewhat travelled woman, having living in the US for 10 years, Britain and now back home in Ireland. I've worked in a number of different areas, some interesting like including wind energy development, and some not...;-) I am now teaching maths to adults, and cycling skills to children!
I used to love travelling by myself to places like Central America and the Middle East, but now I travel with my Mother (the kind of 82 year old that everyone loves, not the crotchety kind!), and my daughter (who plays the fiddle and tin whistle, but not on holidays...), so I'm a little more conventional in my choice of holidays now.
