Nestled in a towering grove of 100-year-old Douglas fir’s, this custom designed treehouse provides all the amenities you would expect in a luxury Mount Rainier getaway while immersing you in the relaxing beauty of the forest from above. Read a book in the suspended net loft upstairs, cozy up in front of the fireplace to watch your favorite movie, or find inspiration at the writing desk. Located on its own half-acre private forest- the treehouse is walking distance to local businesses.

The space
This 400 square foot tree house is nestled on it's own small grove of 100 year old forest in a residential community near Ashford, WA. A model of low-impact development, the treehouse is designed in every way to work with nature to preserve the natural integrity of the forest while also providing a comfortable space for guests.

A private parking area greets guests, and a 120v-20amp outlet is available at the parking area for suitable EV chargers. A short lighted trail leads guests from the parking area to the treehouse. A lighted stairway will take you 15 feet up to the deck and front door. On the deck, a pair of patio chairs provide the perfect place to sip your morning coffee and watch for deer. A small propane grill is also seasonally available for guests to cook meals on the deck.

Inside, you will find a fully functional kitchen- complete with a sink, range, microwave/convection oven, mini fridge/freezer, and all the utensils you will need to prepare your favorite snacks or meals. The living area includes a sectional sofa, which also folds out into a lounge or full size bed for a third guest. Guests will also find a writing desk, as well as a bar table and stools for games or meals. A fireplace and mantle sit center stage, with a 43" TV to stream your favorite shows or watch a movie. Downstairs, guests will also find a bathroom- which features a standard toilet, sink, and shower.

A ships ladder leads guest to an upstairs loft. Here you will find a sleeping nook with a queen-sized bed, as well as a suspended net for relaxing, reading, or taking a nap. High speed wireless internet is also provided.

Guest access
Guests have complete and sole access to the treehouse, deck, and parking area. We respectfully request that guests refrain from walking around the property in order to preserve the natural forest setting.

Other things to note
IMPORTANT: Please note that treehouses are unique structures and therefore create conditions, challenges, and hazards that other stays do not. The treehouse is fully permitted and engineered to all local codes to safely withstand the forces of nature, and by booking a stay you are accepting and acknowledging the potential for these hazards and any interference they may have with your stay:

The treehouse is fully supported by live trees, and is designed to allow uninhibited movement of each of it's trees. Under modest winds, guests may feel the treehouse move along with audible "thump" sounds. This is perfectly normal, and is the result of the weight of the treehouse moving within it's support structure as designed. Because it is built within trees, winds may also result in falling limbs or debris.

The treehouse is designed to meet all building codes, though features a steep un-gated ships ladder to reach the second floor. Due to fall hazard of the ladder and handrails designed for adults, the treehouse is unsuitable for children under the age of 12. The treehouse may also be unsuitable for those who are physically unable to climb the ladder safely.

The driveway and parking area have a downhill slope. During inclement weather, we highly recommend all-wheel-drive vehicles- or two wheel drive vehicles with chains. Guests may park close to the street as well. The location of Ashford makes getting help for disabled vehicles very difficult during inclement weather.

High winds, heavy snow, or extended power outages may make the treehouse unsuitable for occupancy. We monitor conditions daily, and in the event of such conditions we will contact you directly. If conditions are unsuitable, we will unfortunately recommend that you cancel your stay. Any cancellations due to such conditions will be fully refunded.
