This was a wonderful place to be for a few days. It exceeded our expectations. The loft apartment was spacious, clean, and well-stocked. The art on the walls delighted us, and the garden provided a kind of oasis. With the subway just around the corner, the location was very convenient and the neighborhood had restaurants that served delicious and reasonably priced food. Prospect Park was just a few blocks away. This was a quiet place. One caveat: this apartment doesn't have a TV set or radio. We were able to plug our netbook into the speaker system and streamed Netflix and NPR.
My dad had a wonderful stay in Eric's apartment. The space is absolutely lovely, the neighborhood is great, and the logistics all ran very smoothly thanks to Eric's care. We loved the high ceilings and all the beautiful details in the apartment, as well as the outdoor space (not easy to come by in New York!) and I am totally in love with this neighborhood: quiet but convenient, super close to the amazing Prospect Park, and walking distance to couple wonderful cafes and restaurants. I would recommend Eric's place to anyone visiting NYC!
Eric's apartment is really very pleasant and comfortable and situated in a peaceful and nice district away from Manhattan which is nevertheless quickly approachable by the subway close to this apartment.
all the family took a real pleasure to stay there.
the backyard was very much appreciated
Eric is a very good host and contacted us regularly to know if everything went well.
we deeply recommend this apartment

We very much enjoyed our stay in Eric's lovely apartment. Upon arrival we were warmly welcomed by Merit who lives upstairs. The apartment was exactly as advertised, comfortable, spacious and well-appointed. We were fortunate to be there on gorgeous NY days and the sun pouring into the apartment was delightful after this long, brutal winter.
The neighborhood is quiet and very near lovely Prospect Park. We appreciated Eric's suggestions for eateries and information regarding the easily accessible subway.
Both our host, Eric, and Merit were readily available when questions arose. I would recommend this property to anyone looking to enjoy this quiet, family oriented, Brooklyn neighborhood. We thank our host for his kind hospitality.
The place was great! Really big, clean and they were very helpful with anything that was needed. Its a half block from the subway which works really well. The only drawback is that there are not a lot of restaurants nearby or a grocery but overall everything else was great! Thanks Eric.
Apt was exactly as pictured/advertised. Apt was beautifully decorated, comfortable and a perfect place to unwind/meditate after running around the city all day. Incredible light, and a nice yard - great ambience. Neighborhood was quiet and very safe - many young families live there. (We discovered a day care a couple doors down one morning - bubbles came floating over the fence, accompanied by a chorus of excited children's voices.)
It was awesome being in a neighborhood - amazing coffee on one corner, restaurant on the other, deli a couple doors down, subway just steps away. By the end of our stay, we recognized several neighbors and vice versa.
The apt is the ground floor of a 3-story buidling built in the 1920s - brick walls, tin ceilings, original wood - occupied by friends and family. It felt like we were visiting someone we knew, not just staying 'somewhere'. A big bonus for us was having Lindsey and Merit upstairs, who checked us in/out and were very helpful during our stay.
Eric kept in touch via email/text and was a very gracious host even though he was travelling.
We would recommend this apt to anyone who would like to experience Brooklyn/NYC as a 'local;. We hope the apt is available for our next trip!
Thank you, Eric!!
Appartment is very beautiful exactly as pictured in his listing. Eric was an excellent host, we never met him but he was always ready to inquire if we needed something. The bed is super comfortable, the kitchen has everything you could think. subway is near the appartment (F-G). Time Square is about 30 minutes, take the F line and then change. Thank you Eric and Linsdey. New York is in our heart as your beautiful home. Francesca, Roberto e Lorenzo
This is a beautiful, spacious apartment, and Eric was very responsive and friendly. It's a great neighborhood, quiet and close to the park (which was perfect for my family who find NYC a bit intimidating), but also very close to the subway, making it a snap to get in to Manhattan to see the sights. If you're planning an NYC visit, I highly recommend this Brooklyn oasis.
We couldn't have been happier with our stay in Eric's Brooklyn apartment. The space was exactly as pictured in the photos, and Eric was an attentive and helpful host. I'd give Eric and his apartment 6 stars if I could!
The apartment was beautiful-- exactly as pictured in his listing. If anything, Eric has undersold the place, overlooking some amenities worth mentioning (like the rain shower head). And the location is terrific: wine store three doors away, subway station on the block, Prospect Park two blocks away.
The thing that set the experience apart was the host. Email exchanges were friendly, and always prompt. The answer to every question we could possibly have had (from delivery menus to where the toilet paper was in case we ran out) was found a neatly organized binder for us. We had phone contact for the neighbors in case we had any unforeseen questions (they too were lovely, as it turns out). There was even a smattering of beer/wine left in the fridge along with a note that if we missed the deli or wine store closing, we should feel free to drink-and-replace. In every way, it felt like we had borrowed a flat from an old friend instead of a complete stranger.
