Marianne and Jim (and their dog Winni) were delightful hosts! They are long-time residents and have excellent suggestions for activities in the area. They were so gentle and welcoming with our toddler as well. Marianne read him books every evening!
The room was exactly as pictured - and it felt even larger in person. The rest of the house was comfortable and spacious, and our hosts allowed us to use the shared areas as though we were part of the family. And the backyard was a real treat! A peaceful fountain, birds, grass to lounge on, and a shaded area as well.
The location is perfect - SLO downtown is just a 15 minute walk away, and is through a historic neighborhood with lovely houses and gardens. There is even an exclusive bike route right into downtown. If we ever found ourselves in SLO, we would definitely choose to stay here again!
Our week-long stay with Marianne and Jim was our first time using airbnb and I must say that they have set the bar high. They are excellent and delightful hosts. Their house is very nice and comfortable and they made us feel right at home. Great location with easy walking/biking to downtown and beyond. Highly recommended!
!Marianne was super nice. Her house + the bedroom were really great and reasonably priced. They were great hosts, helping us find good places to eat, and making sure we were well taken care of while in the house. They even had an adorable dog! Would definitely recommend them
This was my first time using Airbnb and I was a little hesitant. Marianne and her husband Jim made my experience so pleasant that I did not want to leave. Seriously. Their home is very cozy and their manner is very inviting. I couldn't help but feel part of the family! I can't express how nice it was to stay with them during my first few weeks in a new town. They go above and beyond making you feel comfortable. Their dog is also amazing and I will really miss her. After a long day at work, I really looked forward to their company and great conversation. I can't recommend them enough!
We loved our stay with Marianne and her husband! We had breakfast together in the garden and even ate a few things they had grown in their backyard! Very relaxing! Exactly what we were looking for!!!
I’ve to say that everything was perfect.
Location close to downtown and railway station,
room comfortable and well equiped,
bathroom with natural light,
access to kitchen,
friendly and helpful hosts.
What else could I expect?
Our stay with Jim and Marianne couldn't have been more fantastic. They are downright wonderful people who care about leaving their patch of the world a better place. My partner and I enjoyed their warm and welcoming home, easy-going attitudes, and conversations over dinner so very much. Their space is sunny, clean, and gorgeous. I highly recommend them as hosts to future guests.
Marianne & Jim (and Winnie the dog) were fantastic hosts. The house itself features many charming characteristics. Comfortable bedroom w/ two windows for sunlight & fresh air (privacy drapes as well). Short stroll to Downtown SLO. Avocado,Apple,Apricot,Lemon and Orange trees for the pickin'. Best Airbnb experience thus far!
We had an amazing time staying at Marianne and Jim's place. Very gracious hosts. They have a beautiful home that they opened up to us. It's very clean and quiet, and in an awesome location. Breakfast in the garden was so tranquil and relaxing. We walked just a few blocks to the shops restaurants and bars downtown. Beaches and hiking were only a short drive away. Definitely recommend staying here, didn't want to leave.
