The Space

This charming cottage is a stand alone building in historic residential Bend. It's only a short stroll (15 minutes) to restaurants and bars downtown, as well as to the Old Mill shops, restaurants, the Amphitheater, or the Deschutes River!

A custom-tile bathroom, cozy sitting room, and newly renovated kitchen combined make for a home away from home. The bedroom has a queen size bed and window facing a residential street to the north, and a sunny light-filled bathroom to the south. The sitting room has a fold out Full size futon, and there is a single size fold down futon couch that's appropriate for kids.

Both the bedroom and the sitting room have original wood floors and the home is decorated with warm red and beige hues.

You are welcome to bring your pet(s)! There is an additional non-refundable fee of $10/per pet/per night. Please let me know in advance because I ask that you please pay by cash or check when you arrive, thank you.
PET RULES:
- no pets on the beds or furniture
- please pick up after your dog!
- if there is any damage, or any complaints from neighbors, there will be additional charges.

I don't tend to approve splitting up Friday and Saturday weekend nights, but if it's really important we can work something out. I'll likely charge the Sunday night as a weekend night.

Wander over to Bend's favorite Taco Stand, grab an IPA at nearby Boneyard Brewery, or an Ocean Roll at Sparrow Bakery, catch the spectacular mountain sunset at Crux Fermentation Project, or check out the rest of downtown Bend--it's all only a stroll away!

The kitchen comes equipped with the following:
- French Press
- 8 cup Coffee Maker
- Microwave
- Toaster
- Dishes, Glasses, Stemware, Silverware
- Multiple Mixing Bowls
- Large Serving Bowl
- Stock Pot and Roasting Pans
- Saute Pans, Skillets, and Sauce Pans
- Cutting Boards, Colander
- Pizza Pan
- Cookie Tray
- Misc Tools: Corkscrew, Whisk, Rubber Spatula, Grate, Can Opener, Ice Cream Scoop, Potato Masher

No smoking allowed.

Guest Access

There is a Laundry Room attached to the rear of the building that all guests have access to during the hours of 2-5, and the Housekeeping girls have access to from 11-2. If you are ever disturb outside of these hours please let me know right away so that I can resolve that for you.

Interaction with Guests

I'm in Bend once a month but usually stay with friends while my own houses are rented out! But I am always available by phone/text/email and am more than happy to help.

The Neighborhood

Very cute, quiet neighborhood with easy walking (15 minutes) to downtown, the Old Mill Shops, and the Deschutes River.

Getting around

Best to bring your bikes, or, Hutch's Bicycles rents mountain and road bikes.

Other Things to Note

There are lots of great things to see and do right out the front door. It's fun to watch the sunrise or sunset from the top of Pilot Butte if you're feeling motivated, or head down to Lava Butte for a more expansive view of the nearly 400 buttes in Central Oregon--wow and then catch the High Desert Museum along the way.

  • We just returned from five nights in Bend at Hannah's place. It was the perfect home base for our trip and will definitely be the first place we look for when returning. Everything was perfect from the location to the well stocked kitchen. It was clean, comfortable, and the perfect size for my husband and I and our small dog. The neighbors and neighboring business owners were friendly and we enjoyed walking and biking around the area. Thanks for a great stay, Hannah! We hope to return next June for an even longer visit.

  • Had a great time in Hannah's cottage. Convenient location, near downtown and right next door to Boneyard Brewing.

  • Nice clean cottage close to downtown. Fully equipped kitchen with a full size stove, refrigerator, and even dishwasher. Granite counter tops. Nice, larger then expected bathroom. Small but sufficient LR and bedroom though with somewhat dreary (website hidden) in the living room.
Make sure you know the code for the key lock box before you arrive.
The cottage is located right next to a small brewery, and so there is very distinct hoppy smell in the air. It is also close to the highway and railroad, so it is not the most quiet neighborhood. The neighborhood consists of mostly rental units.

  • What a beautiful and cozy place in the heart of downtown bend! A great place to stay where the action is walkable. Hannah made arrangements for my husband and me to stay with very little notice (about an hour) on our part. It really helped us out when we were frantically searching for a place in which we could bring our dog.

  • Hannah's place was perfect for the three of us and our two dogs. Thank you Hannah! Our daughter won their soccer tourney and we had a great time in your beautiful home. We also enjoyed hanging out in the yard with the dogs.

You responded to all my questions right away and on such short notice. Thank you again. We will be back for sure! Especially because we didn't know Boneyard brew was right next door. Their IPA is by far one of our favorites! What a treat!

  • Excellent location, next to Boneyard, 10 min walk downtown. Super quiet area. Place is spotless. Bed is comfy, towels are fluffy and it's warm when chilly outside!

  • Hannah was a great host. She was communicative and allowed us to upgrade to a bigger unit that was available and unoccupied. Her cottages are neat, well cared for, and well stocked with cooking utensils, etc.

  • The cottage was perfect for our recent visit to Bend. It's in a great location, cozy but very nicely laid out, and especially nice that it's dog-friendly. Hannah was friendly, responsive, and helpful and understanding when we needed to handle some post-visit logistics. Highly recommended.

  • Hannah's cottage was tidy and clean. Check in and out was quick and easy. We loved that the cottage was a short 10 minute walk to the center of town. There were no problems with noise from the brewery or the streets. The only piece of advice is say is to bring slippers as the floor was cool and although heaters worked quickly, the floor is cold.

  • Awesome location, very close to Boneyard Brewing and Crux Fermentation project. Nicely remodeled and cozy cottage.

About
I've been a world traveler since my Peace Corps parents got me a passport when I was two years old, and I've been seeking out new adventures ever since. From Ecuador to Geneva and Nepal to Borneo, I'm always game to see a new place, and love being able to share my own home to other travelers passing through. These days I travel with my daughter, Bianca, with whom I am eager to share my love of new cultures and foreign places. Hope to see you soon!
