Are you looking for a more authentic travel experience during your time on the islands? And looking for something more organic and retreat like without paying a small fortune? Then we may have the perfect spot for you. We have three lovely guest rooms in our main house, the KING ROOM w/king bed and private bath ($99) and the QUEEN ROOM w/queen bed and shared bath ($79) and the DOUBLE ROOM w/ a double bed, private entrance and shared bath (available only with whole house rental). We have an outdoor shower and infrared sauna area. The main house has a communal kitchen, living and dining room and wrap around lani. We also occasionally offer our private 14x28 COTTAGE ($99) just a short walk down a lovely path next door to the main house with a king size bed, a beautiful private deck w/ a kitchenette and amazing view of the ocean. It shares the use of the outdoor shower/sink and the indoor bathroom with the main house. You can find all rooms on airbnb as well as the cottage and whole house as separate listings.

I am sure you will enjoy our beautiful landscape and panoramic views of Kealakekua Bay, Honaunau City of Refuge and the vast pacific ocean. • The house and view are even more stunning in person compare to the online photos. The king room bed is big and comfortable. It's very kid friendly. Steve was kind enough to show us how to milk the goat and explain sustainable farming. We will definitely recommend anyone to stay there. But the street is not showing on GPS, make sure to get there before dark on the first day.

  • It was a pleasure to stay at Steve and Melinda's. Although I didn't get to meet them I felt right at home. Steve was always available to talk on the phone. The king bed was very comfortable and our room was tidy.
I wish I had the opportunity to cook because the farmers mrkt was abundant, kitchen -big and seemed all the necessary tools were there to cook up an omelette. But we ended up finding places to eat locally.
Steve and Melinda's place has a lot of care and wisdom put into it. I felt in my element; having a meditation room and lush garden/ farm available to me. Mahalo, can't wait to return!

  • My wife and I had a wonderful time at the farm. The tastefully decorated house was on the side of a hill, with a breezy patio overlooking the ocean. Honestly, i could have spent my entire two days lounging on the patio - it was so tranquil and relaxing. The farm itself was a treat to explore - fruit and nut trees, ducks and chickens, goats and sheep, and rabbits. And Steve was an incredibly gracious host. Our short stay at the farm was a highlight of our Hawaii trip.

  • I really enjoyed my first 2 nights on the Big Island staying here in February. It was a great location for some peace and quiet time. The bed was extremely comfortable in the master bedroom, the views of the sunset from the lanai were gorgeous, and Steve was helpful at directing me to local places to eat. I also really enjoyed the sounds of the night as well. Highly recommend and would stay here again if I go back!

  • We enjoyed our short stay at Honaunau Farm. What an amazing place! The house was beautiful and peaceful. We were in and out so quickly that we didn't get to enjoy the space as much as we would have liked. Steve was a kind and warm host, even when we surprised him on the first night of our stay. The shower in the Master Suite wasn't very warm, but Steve offered use of the other bathroom on site, no problem. Thanks for sharing your animals and farm with us!

  • This place is incredible. The fresh fruits grown on the farm are delicious. Steve, Melinda, and everyone on the farm were fantastic and always very inviting. The home is absolutely stunning with an amazing deck and very clean. Highly recommended. We will definitely be coming back.

  • Steve and Melinda and all the other people on the farm made us totally feel at home for our stay on their fantastic farm. They are wonderful people who gave us very interesting information about the surrounding places.
The room is large and totally clean and the shared kitchen and living room are well equipped and beautifully arranged.
We especially loved to relax on the large balcony just like their lovely cats and their dog did (still missing them :-) - enjoying the view of the farm, the ocean and the sunset.
If you go to Big Island - this is the place to stay. We would really love to come back.

  • An incredible couple of people! We loved staying with Steve and Melinda, the farm was such a fun place to explore: its a real model for permaculture, and the animals are so delightful. The additional services they offer, like massage and fun farm classes, were so worthwhile. They also made coming and going very easy. We felt very comfortable and welcomed, but they were absolutely non-intrusive. The accomadations were Iuxurious and rustic! We plan to stay again when we return to the Kona coast, I highly recommend their farm stay to anyone, whether they usually look for a Hilton or hostel.
