Steve and Melinda's place is magical. We loved the farm, the location, the incredibly warm hospitality of Steve, the lovely guests sharing the other rooms when we were there and the beauty all around. It is a special place for those who enjoy a different kind of touristic experience of real Hawaii... the jamboticama jam is awesome, but unfortunately TSA confiscated our jars when we were leaving. We highly recommend this place!! :)
Happy campers. Everything was amazing. Thanks for the amazing hospitality. If you want to get in touch with Stacey re: farm to school her email is: (email hidden)
This was a great place to stay all the way around. I really appreciated the warm creative aesthetic and the deck with its view. We only had 3 nights there, which felt short because after being out all day, you wanted to be there too. They were very nice people who offered help and services like massage homeade jam fresh eggs etc. The space is very clean and organized too. I would highly recommend it.
Wonderful place, highly recommended. The photos tell only part of the story. The guest house is stunningly beautiful with a panoramic view of the hills below and a broad expanse of ocean coastline. We stayed for two nights in the King room and spent an afternoon relaxing on the balcony. One end has a huge daybed with a view and the other end a dining table with a view. The house interior is lovely as well, very spacious. We enjoyed walking around the farm, talking with Melinda and Steve about their activities and their vision for this beautiful place, and picking fruit from the trees... oh, and the outdoor shower. The location is perfect for visiting the Place of Refuge national historic park and Two Step for snorkeling. Don't miss the Painted Church and gardens on the way down to the coast!
Honaunau farms is a true sanctuary, nestled on a hillside overlooking the lush jungle land and the wide open ocean. The serine and accommodating house sits perched above fruit trees, garden and livestock giving you a birds eye view on all the daily happenings of the farm and its plethora of inhabitants. With all that goes on we were still able to feel completely autonomous and went about spending our time as we saw fit. With accommodating, beautiful and knowledgable folks a request away.
We took a cooking class and a farm tour and both were insightful and inspiring. When we where not enjoying the luxury of the house we found some of the best beaches and restaurants on the island a short drive away. There is so much to be uncovered in this wonderful stretch of the island a week was not enough.
What a special spot. We loved our stay and the peaceful surroundings. The tree frogs are so cool. This was so close to Honaunau where we snorkeled with dolphins for almost two hours at Two Steps. Thanks for spending time to talk with us about your projects on sustainability, Steve. You're making a real impact. Linda and Ray
The house and view are even more stunning in person compare to the online photos. The king room bed is big and comfortable. It's very kid friendly. Steve was kind enough to show us how to milk the goat and explain sustainable farming. We will definitely recommend anyone to stay there. But the street is not showing on GPS, make sure to get there before dark on the first day.

About the Host, Steve & Melinda
Our holistic farm and retreat is a place where we can engage with people and share in the abundance of a co-creative conscious lifestyle. We love meeting people from all over the world right here in our home. We enjoy engaging conversation about travel, spirituality, holistic living, healthy food and current affairs. We find people who use airbnb to be great guests and it is a pleasure to be a host in Hawaii because we have the opportunity to extend the magic and beauty of the island to all of them in unique ways. We love our life and we love to share it.
