(Come the second Saturday night of the month for art walk to see it in full fledge)
Come December, Art Basel's main satellite tents, Scope, Red Dot, Art Asia, and Art Miami set up there tents directly across the street. A few blocks north is the Miami Design District, with top interior and fashion deign showrooms and acclaimed culinary dining. Downtown Miami is a few miles south and the beaches are just across the causeway.
We invite you to stay with us:)
Would like to say I enjoyed my visit, but the apartment was not very clean. Room 2 overlooks rows of garbage bins. Did not feel entirely safe walking alone in this neighbourhood. The bed linens were filled with hair, and the quilt had fresh bloodstains on it. Left after the first night. Did not stay the length of time I had planned.
Room was clean and cute, never saw the host but check in was easy with a lock box. Bathroom is shared with 4 other rooms so there can be a little competition. Live music from below filled the room, but it was really good so we didn't mind. Just might want to bring ear plugs and tylenol PM if trying to hit the hay early. Shared kitchen is nice, definitely has a hostel feel to it. Parking was hard to find since we arrived late, but we parked a block and a half away so not too bad.
Our experience at Lagniappe House Wynwood was great. Becca was an awesome host. The room was ready and clean when we got there. The jazz bar on the lower level is a great place to chill out at night. Overall, we HIGHLY recommend this place!!!!
I had a great experience here. Charmingly decorated room above an amazing wine bar with live jazz. Very centrally located between Wynwood and the Design District. Very clean! My reservation was last minute and Becca accommodated me perfectly.
Really nice place in central location. Great music downstairs and friendly people. The wifi connection was fine for me.
Becca is the sweetest host. Didn't see here around often but I could always e-mail or call her if I had any questions. The room was clean and the kitchen/bathroom we're well equipped and nicely decorated. The restaurant downstairs is the best restaurant in Miami :) Went there many nights during my stay and had a great time. Do realize that it's noisy during the evening/night, but just go down and enjoy the party. The beach is a 30 minute bike-ride, but it's a nice and safe bike-ride. Recommended if your staying in Miami!
I had such a wonderful time here! I arrived quite late on a Friday night from the airport, but Frederic was very helpful with the keys and getting me settled in. The room and bed was clean and comfortable. After a hot shower, I went downstairs to the most wonderful spot in Miami to have a beer, relax, and listen to some jazz music. I made some great friends, and Becca is incredibly helpful and a wonderful host. Thank you so much, and I will be back again.
I had a good time at Becca's space!
The location is amazing, the room is nice, with good space. The bathroom was clean and had a good shower.
I arrived on friday night, so it was hard to find a spot to park the car because of the bar downstairs. In others day it was ok.
There are others 3 rooms to rent, but its not a problem. I've met a buddy there, it was pretty nice.
Becca is a very good person, always trying to help and make you comfortable.
This was my second time staying at Lagniappe, and I am so thrilled I decided to return. The house feels even more like home than I remembered, and Becca was the perfect hostess! The next time I am in Miami I will definitely stay at the Lagniappe house.
We spent 8 nights at Becca's space in Miami. Unfortunately, she forgot our arrival and we had to wait. Moreover, we have not seen her again.
The apartment is easy to reach from the airport in about 15 minutes.
The bar below is really cool and worth a visit. The volume was not as loud as we had imagined. On weekdays, most of it ended at 1 am, on weekends sometimes at 3 am. Depending on the band, it was quieter or louder.
We felt a bit unpleasant with the humming noise of the outside air conditioner directly under our window. Since we did a lot of sight seeing we were still able to sleep well. You get used to it ;)
Our room and our bed were fine. We could lock the door. The bathroom was quite small, but it served us. Fresh towels were in the hallway. The kitchen was large and well equipped. We cooked a few times. Sometimes there were insects running over the countertop.
We had a rental car and some problems with parking: Becca said we could park in front of the house, as long as her boyfriend is not there. A day later, there was a warning note from the manager on our car, that we cannot park here, otherwise we will be towed. Since it was always very busy with guests from the bar, we parked in a side street of which it was said that the parking meters would not be controlled. Indeed, they were not, but somebody broke into our car. So please do not park at 34th street! We parked in another street then, or if we were lucky in front of the garden, but with a bad feeling.
Despite these negative experiences, we felt comfortable at Becca's space.
* Thanks for hosting us *
