About this listing
The house is right in the center of a small Provencal village called Saint-Pierre-de-Vassols. It is located at the foot of the Mont Ventoux (1911 meters above sea level. M.), surrounded by vineyards, pine forests and olive trees.
Lovely traditional house in the center of a well-preserved village with inside and outside terrace. Very quiet village for relaxing and fresh air in summer thanks to stone walls.
The house offers 3 bedrooms.
On the first floor the wide bedroom (28 square meter) offers a direct access to the inner courtyard. It has a comfortable double bed, TNT HD TV, wood stove and a separate water access.
On the upper floor you'll find 2 bedrooms.
The first one is the brightest and widest of all (30 square meter) with view on the Dentelles-du-Montmirail. It offers a comfortable double bed, a separate water access and a wood stove.
The second room is smaller (14 square meter) but has a dedicated bathroom. It offers of course another double bed.
The rooms are newly painted with local techniques and has enough comfort for a pleasant stay. Enjoy the fresh, under shade terrace in hot summertimes or take a typical breakfast on the front terrace with direct access to the kitchen and appreciate the atmosphere of a typical provençal village life with friendly and helpful neighbors.
Access to the whole house and the basement. Bicycle ready with closed basement and bike wash.
Interaction with Guests
Don't hesitate to ask for great bike tours and/or for secret singletrails!
I'm an avid cyclist and I can't tell you how much the Mont Ventoux is a gold mine for any sort of such activities.
The village has a real soul, with no touristic invasion. It is surrounded by vineyards and stone throws away form the first climbs to Mt Ventoux. There is a postal office, a little restaurant and a barber.
You can rent a car directly at the Avignon railway station or get a bus to Carpentras and book a taxi for 15-20 € to the village. A new passenger railway line between Avignon and Carpentras is now in function. There are also public transportations to the village during the workdays. Ask us for schedules.
Bédoin is 3 km away, and Carpentras 9 km.
Parking lots available at the front of the house.
There are plenty of terraces where you can smoke, smoking inside is not allowed.
It's often not such a big deal if something gets broken or soiled. Often, the replacement or cleaning is less expensive than expected. Just communicate us your little tragedies as soon as possible, so we can take the appropriate measures, especially to ensure a perfect stay for the next renters.
We loved to stay at this place very much. Noel was very welcoming, helpful and easy to communicate with. The house was very cosy and "provencal", it had everything we needed. We enjoyed the village that was quiet, peaceful and very picturesque not to forget about the area - a lot of wineries and biking/hiking possibilities .
All in all we are very satisfied with our stay at this place!
Noel was very welcoming, helping us with bicycle hire etc. They had great communication leading up to our visit. The house is lovely, and perfectly situated for a cycle up Ventoux. Thanks Noel and sylvester!
We had a lovely stay here. The house is charming and well equipped for a longer stay for a small family. We were 3 adults cycling on Mont Ventoux and our stay was short but very pleasant. I would strongly recommend this lovely house.
Really enjoyed the house in the little village. We stayed for 3 nights and enjoyed the area of the Ventoux. I also succeeded in climbing the Mont Ventoux by bike, for which this house is a perfect 'base camp' (the Bedoin side).
The house itself is well equipped and has several terraces, none of them are really private, but that was not a big deal.
The beds were very clean and good and we stayed there with our two kids. Also the hosts were very welcoming and friendly, including the friendly neighbours.
I didn't get a chance to meet Sylvestre, but we met Noel and he was very welcoming and accommodating -- He made us feel at home. The house was big (especially since there was only the 2 of us!) and charming. The terrace was nice to hang out in during the hot afternoon and the location was close enough of different towns to visit. Great place!
We stayed here as we came to ride Mont Ventoux. It's a simple 6 km ride to Bédoin to start the Ventoux. The house is in a small square off the main street and there are a few communal parking spaces. It was usually possible to find a parking spot but not always in an official spot.
The house has three bedrooms and two bathrooms. One of the bathrooms is attached to the smallest bedroom. The other upstairs bedroom is wonderfully spacious. The main downstairs room contains a bed, which means there is unfortunately no living room or sofa in which to relax. However, the house has two outside patio, one of which is shared with the neighbors.
Noel was a very gracious host, friendly and helpful. We were there on a very hot day and requested a fan since the house doesn't have air conditioning. Noel bought and brought round a fan the next day, which was very kind. All in all, it was good value for money and we would recommend staying there if you want to cycle Mont Ventoux or just visit the area. Oh, and one other amazing place to ride or visit is the Gorges de la Nesque.
