Right across the street (Lincoln ) there's Bus 70/70a that can take one to either Boston or Central Square where you can get the redline to Boston.
The apartment is in a sort of a basement (split level), cellphone network tends to be a pain. There's a house phone you can use. Also you can step out to the front where the network clearer.
Excellent choice. I can only comment as a business traveler looking for a 30 day stay for business. Great location, much more affordable than a long term hotel stay. Much better accommodations, too. Convenient to anywhere around Rt. 128 corridor. Restaurants, grocery store, all needed amenities right nearby. Great hostess - you get the whole place to yourself but she is a wonderful, unobtrusive, yet helpful (not that you'll need much help) hostess. Great TV, wireless, comfortable, plenty of parking - everything a business traveler needs. Highly recommended.
Anne was a perfect host. I arrived very late at night and she had left keys in a safe spot for me. The home was inviting. It was just like staying at a friend's house for a few days.
The only feedback I would give that may be drawbacks is that there seemed to be a strange smell. I wouldn't notice after being there for a bit but could smell it again when I left and came back. Kind of like a cat smell. Not terrible, but not super pleasant.
Again, it was a very comfortable and inviting place for me to go back to after some long work days. It was INCREDIBLY quiet. I hardly even saw anyone else, never mind heard anyone else. It was convenient to Concord AND Boston, where I was working. I would stay again if going to the area.
a very comfortable apartment in a nice part of Waltham, near shops and restaurants. easy access from Rt 128. The apartment was warm, clean and quiet. The TV channel selection was extensive and the Internet coverage was quite fast. And a great hot shower to wake up to!
when traveling there are some things very important.
1. quiet place to stay
3. close to access areas/transportation
4. great host
we can't say enough about our stay and what a joy our hostess was. you are living in an apartment that's more than quiet & peaceful. Ann was caring, patient and responsive to everything we needed or requested. long or short time - a great place to rest your weary traveling head(s).
Anne really came through at the last minute for us! Worked out great. Kitchen was nice to have and not too far from central Boston. Check-in and check-out worked really well and we really appreciated her timely replies to our queries. Would recommend.
We had a wonderful getaway in Anne's apartment. She is a lovely person, very responsive and friendly, and the apartment was homey and clean. Parking was easy as well in this quiet quiet setting. I felt right at home with her beaming family photos and cozy kitchen. The bed is great too, no bad backs in the morning.
This was my first experience using Airbandb, so I wasn't sure what to expect. The place was fine for what we needed, but the family lives there and leaves when someone books it. Their food, toiletries, clothes, and personal items were there, which made me feel more like a guest in someone's home versus a paying customer at a hotel. That may be normal for most Airbandb experiences. However, it was difficult for me to relax for the first couple of days. The place itself is fine. The bed is comfortable, and the place was clean. It's conveniently located to most of the major highways around Boston, so if you're driving, it's perfect. The hostess was very flexible with the check-in and check-out times, so the experience was very easy. The place also had a washer and dryer, so it was nice to bring clean clothes home. The internet and cable are also fast and have more channels than an average hotel room. We were able to watch some of our shows on demand, which we can't do at a hotel. Overall, it was a great value for the money, especially when compared to hotels in Boston. I would use Ann again in a heartbeat.
My daughter got married in Somerville on 10/5/13 and this apartment was perfect for our needs. It was clean and very comfortable. My daughter was having her and her husband's family meeting for the first time at her home and the oven quit so we were able to fix the dish she needed. It was great. My boyfriend did not like the cable channels available but used Netflix on his laptop. I would recommend this apartments to other members.
I had a lovely stay in Anne's apartment and was lucky enough to meet her briefly. What a warm and gracious woman. She was flexible with check-in and -out times. Her apartment was very comfortable and clean and located in a quiet neighborhood. I felt very relaxed and at home there. Highly recommend.
My brother and I were on holidays in Boston staying 2 nights from Anne.
The apartment is as shown in the pictures. Very cozy and furnished with everything you need. The neighborhood is very quiet.
We met Anne who showed us the apartment. She is really very nice. We highly recommend staying here.
