kayaking, woods, swimming, outdoor shower, great restaurants, - many people say it feels like a secluded mountain get away, but close to town and in the low-country :)
Interaction with Guests
we are here on the property too, but there's a whole 8.5 acres to enjoy, and the space feels very private, while also being part of a community.
Other Things to Note

Polite. Respect all things and return them to their place. Leave all personal items be please. Deal with our dogs kindly and as explained. Thank you.
My boyfriend and I were looking for a cute place to stay for our Folly Beach/Charleston beach vacation, and booked Willis' property. The house is basically a studio with loft space for sleeping, and it's situated on a really beautiful and quaint 8 acre property with garden, lake, woods, etc. Willis texted me the morning after we arrived just to check in and make sure everything was going well, and she made herself available for any questions we had throughout our stay. We loved her sweet and friendly dogs (they live on the property but didn't stay in the studio with us), and we especially loved the outdoor shower. The studio is very cute and filled with her own personal effects, such as yoga books, meaningful quotations, twinkling christmas lights, and a great record collection! The place is definitely lived-in (which we liked), and was very clean. It was really nice that the property already had everything one would need- towels, toiletries, pots/pans, plates, etc- so we didn't have to lug any of that stuff with us. This is the perfect place to stay if you are looking for a charming and smaller spot in the Charleston area. Thank you Willis!
Had the most amazing experience here. By far the most romantic place I have ever stayed. Looks like something right out of the notebook! I hope one day we can come back and stay again!
Communication was easy with Willis and we loved it! Studio-style funky, quirky cottage with ladder-access upstairs loft, right on a lovely pond that feels more like a gentle river. Full well-equipped kitchen, living room with record/cd/tape player, lots of handmade art and decorations, plus Christmas lights! Was a beautiful spot to relax and enjoy Charleston without being right in downtown Charleston. Easy access to grocery stores, and handful of restaurants plus easy drive to Charlestonk make this a lovely place to stay. big swimming hole with nets, boogie boards, kayaks, zip line, and small slide into water make this great for kids and teens. Screened in porch gave us a great place to sit and watch the rain on the water. Water glistens and shimmers outside living room and kitchen windows. Outside shower has hot water, slate steps on the path and privacy. My 9-yr-old son loved climbing the ladder and exploring all the trinkets. One of our favorite rental spaces ever!
This was our first airbnb experience. My two children and I just loved this place. Willis was very accommodating. We arrived a day early in our travels and we were very excited Willis was able to let us check in a day early. The loft has such character. Just love all the fun things in the loft to add entertainment to our stay. The record players, musical instruments, paintings, personal memorabilia. Such a fun environment. The outdoors space just was awesome. Kids and I enjoyed kayaking, paddle boarding, daily visits from the chickens, and dogs. Felt like we were at summer camp. Close to beaches and downtown Charleston. It was a really fun and enjoyable stay at the loft.
This was the most amazing Airbnb experience I've ever had. The property is a dream; no photos or description could ever do this place justice. Willis and her dogs were very sweet and were more than accommodating. The garden on the property is beautiful, and the pond is more like a mini-lake: very clear and clean. A very inspiring and cleansing experience. Having our coffee on the screened-in porch or the dock was a perfect way to start our days, and a shower outside in the sunset was a perfect way to end them. Can't wait to be back!
Nature Lover's Loft is truly just that. Nestled in the countryside of John's Island, this little paradise offers so much. Every morning we kayaked the small lake and every night we watched the stars from the floating dock. The loft is so homey that my boyfriend was content hanging around listening to vinyl records. Willis and her husband are both great people who are so welcoming. The dogs are just as welcoming and kind as their owners.
Just as described! This quirky little place reflects the free-spirit of its owner! I expect that in a few years, Willis will have earned a place among storied folk artists. The place - and especially the pond outside your door - is so peaceful!
