Feel free to enjoy your breakfast and coffee on our new stone patio just a few steps from your comfy abode.
We provide muffins, juice, coffee. There is easy street parking in our beautiful neighborhood. Location is very close to downtown Fort Worth, TCU, hospital district/magnolia, and the zoo. Great walking neighborhood and easy access to bike path on Trinity River Trail.
We would love to direct you around town and give you advice on where to go for entertainment, and, more importantly, where to eat! We also have bikes available for use.
We also have an queen air mattress so this guest house can accommodate 4 for a short stay.
Interaction with Guests
We like to keep this up to our guests. We provide utmost privacy, but also are here to help in anyway we can!
We are located in the heart of Fort Worth in one of the historic neighborhoods. Truly a treasure of historic homes, sidewalks, bike trails, and fantastic restaurants? A few favorites include: Torchy's Tacos (unique tacos and MUST-HAVE queso), Spiral Diner (Vegan); Ellerbe’s Fine Foods (Local, Farm-to-table meals), The 'Usual' (SPEAKEASY-style) Zio Carlos (Gastropub with FANTASTIC pizza), Brewed (pin-terest feel coffee shop, with great burgers and beer- also great brunch!) , the bearded lady (craft beer drinkers dream come true). Can't forget Lilly's Bistro, Sunjiko Station Sushi, and the newest additon, Cane Rosso ( can you sayRahr Brewery is only a 1/2 mile from the house. If you're here on a Saturday afternoon or Wed evening, pay $10 for a glass and get four pints of beer-you'll most likely see a Sports game on the big screen (email hidden) band playing. Check out the live music line up at the Live Oak Lounge and have a drink on the rooftop before the show.
'Share a Bike' is Fort Worth’s newest bike program. Located along the street you can swipe your CC, pick up a bike and return it to one of the many bike stations located within the city. Near South Side is situated just two and a half miles from downtown Sundance Square and three miles from West 7th Street.
Biking, walking, car, or public transportation.
We do have 2 dogs. We ask that if you bring along your friend that they play nicely with others. Please also pick up after your pet!
Perfect neighborhood. Unfortunately, I was there during a freak snow storm so couldn't enjoy the patio - but Derek was very helpful in helping me and my 85 year old family friend safely navigate the icy sidewalk. The heater for the guesthouse works great and quickly heats up all but the bathroom, but as I said, it was a freak snow storm and all of the stores were out of heaters (the hosts tried to buy one). I'm sure that their guesthouse is a perfect spot during more moderate weather.
Ashley and Derek's studio, amenities, and hospitality couldn't have been a better experience. After four days of driving it was the perfect place to land. We were greeted with fresh Almond Croissant pastries, enjoyed the beautifully appointed and comfortable space in an absolute prime location. The kitchenette was more substantial than I had expected, stocked with many items that you wouldn't expect at a hotel. Ashley went above and beyond to make herself available to give us fantastic local advice and tips on anything and everything. If I have time to amend this later I have even more positive specifics to add but living on the road and a cross country move have my vocabulary and writing skill a bit limited. What a wonderful experience, recommend this place to everyone.
The small house in the garden is very comfy and pleasant, it's nice to have out own space and some eating places suggestions.. Derek was helpful in recommending the places to sightsee as well.
Ashley and Derek's guest house was perfect for our New Years Eve trip to Fort Worth! It was close to everything we were wanting to do while in town. The guest house was cozy and had everything that we might need during our stay. Ashley and Derek are super friendly when interacting but mind their guests independence. Would definitely recommend them and this to anyone!
What a lovely experience! Thank you for opening your home to us. The muffins were a nice touch & were breakfast for us the next day when we forgot to pick up something.
It was so easy to come & go without disturbing anyone.
This was our second stay with Ashley and Derek! They added a TV with chromecast which we loved and definitely used. We didn't have much interaction with our hosts due to our crazy schedules but they are a great couple! So friendly and always accommodating! :) Will always stay with them during our visits to DFW!
A friendly Ashley welcomed us to the comfortable apartment on the back of their property in the hip Fairmount neighborhood. There was a helpful guidebook that led us to a great find on nearby Magnolia Ave.
The guest house is in good shape and adequately stocked. It provided a great base for our trip around Ft. Worth.
Derek and I are originally from Kansas City, KS. Derek moved to DFW 10 years ago and I moved here about 4 years ago. We met here in town and both work locally. We spend our time listening to music, checking out local eateries, and enjoying good friends. We both love to spend time outside whether that includes hiking or sitting out on the patio. We have a passion for traveling and can't get enough of spending time in new places.
