This is a junior one-bedroom on St. Johns Place in north Park Slope, Brooklyn (near Prospect Heights). It’s on the second floor of a brownstone, and four minutes from four subway lines.
APARTMENT: My space has a bedroom, a kitchen, and a full bathroom. Each has a south-facing window, and the kitchen has a second, west-facing window – sometimes at night you can see fireworks over the Hudson! It is on the back side of the building, so there’s no street noise.
I have a queen bed and a pull-out chair, so you can comfortably sleep three. The apartment has WiFi, cable, gas stove/oven, refrigerator, microwave, blender, full bathtub. Two closets provide plenty of storage space; the shower is awesome.
TRANSIT: My apartment is four minutes from the B/Q (7th Avenue) and the 2/3 (Grand Army Plaza), with easy connections at Atlantic Avenue to the 4/5/D/N/R and Long Island Rail Road. Union Square, West 4th Street, and Wall Street are 15-20 minutes away; add 10 minutes for Times Square and Grand Central.
NEIGHBORHOOD: 7th Avenue, just around the corner, has many trendy restaurants and bars, as do Flatbush Avenue and 5th Avenue just a little farther away. The gorgeous Prospect Park, the Brooklyn Public Library, the Brooklyn Museum, the Brooklyn Botanic Gardens, and the brand-new Barclays Center are each a 15-minute walk. Nearby Prospect Heights, Gowanus, and South Slope are worth checking out. The area is considered very safe; I haven’t had any issues with security in the two years I’ve lived here.
I look forward to having you as my guest!
As a host, Keith was helpful and responsive. He provided a written guide to the apartment and the neighborhood that's very detailed and informative. I'm familiar with the area because I once lived nearby, and I still learned a couple things reading through it.
We had a great time staying at Keith's place! He was flexible about our unusual arrival and departure times. He also provided some great recommendations about restaurants and other things to do in the area. The apartment was very clean and it was easy to find everything. The area has a lot of great restaurants in walking distance and two subway stops nearby with easy access to most locations we wanted to visit. Would definitely stay again.
This is a great neighborhood and Keith has gone out of his way to give lots of information about it to visitors. He is a very nice person and made me feel that he was genuinely interested in making my visit a good one.
It was great! Keith's apartment is clean and lovely, the kind of place that's small but feels big. And it is in a perfect location.
I booked Keith's place for my parents who were visiting from Texas. Keith is a great communicator. He sent along some helpful information to acquaint my folks with the neighborhood, and his instructions were perfect. The entire process was so simple because Keith had seriously thought of everything!
My mom's review:
Location, location, location!! Keith’s apartment is set right in the middle of where we wanted to be. Where else can you walk around the corner and have a cool coffee shop with fabulous baked goods…bubble tea across the street in a groovy Asian restaurant. A great deli in the next block and several other restaurant choices. The subway to Manhattan was about a 5 minute walk away. Shopping…trees…beautiful brownstones. We were comfortable at the apartment and would go back in a heartbeat. Thanks for everything!
Fluffy towels, nice hot water and good pressure in the shower, adequate drawer and closet space, a good selection of breakfast foods, quiet location, but convenient to shops, restaurants, Brooklyn attractions, and subways.
Very friendly and welcoming host! We had a great time in NY! The location is very near the subway and food retailers.
