King Street Newtown is one of the most fun and vibrant areas in Sydney, with dozens of excellent dining options, outdoor pubs, rooftop bars, live music venues, parks, playgrounds, supermarkets, gyms, small theatres and a cinema. Home to many artists, musicians, students and young professionals, it is famous for its nightlife, food, coffee, shopping and people-watching (many colourful local characters!).
Also within walking distance: Sydney University, University of Technology (UTS), Royal Prince Alfred Hospital, Enmore Theatre, gay-friendly venues and the massive Sydney Park, which is great for jogging and walking and has a kids playground.
Several buses go to the city - the bus stop is right outside. Buses also go direct to Coogee Beach and Bondi Junction and almost every district of Sydney.

Louise's apartment lies in the heart of Newtown, a great place with loads of restaurants and little shops. The apartment is an open plan but with the bedroom and toilet upstairs in a mezzanine. The kitchen equipment is fine and linens are good. Bring your earplugs though if you are sensitive to traffic noise.
This was a late booking but it ended up being a perfect place to stay. Only 20 mins out on the train from Circular Quay, the flat proved to be a great base for exploring Sydney. The flat is a good size and a perfect base for a couple or single traveller, well equipped and very comfortable!! Newtown itself is lively without being loud or loutish, it had a really relaxed modern vibe with loads of independent small shops adding to the vibe. Louise helped me out at late notice and I would highly recommend her flat as a base if you are in Sydney.
What a wonderful way to enjoy Sydney's exciting Newtown neighborhood! We stayed at Louise's apartment, which allowed us easy access to Newtown's artistic and fun King Street shops, cafes and restaurants. Her modern two level loft with terrace gave us a comfortable way to experience living like a hip local. We enjoyed some leisurely breakfasts on that sunny terrace.
The apartment's wi-fi internet connection was unfailingly stable, the bed was comfortable, and there was a convenient jack to plug our iPod into a stereo system upstairs. In addition, we were able to do laundry with Louise's handy instructions for the washer.
Thank you Louise, for your local recommendations and allowing us to experience Sydney from your home!
Louise was wonderful! She was very kind and respectful. The apartment is beautiful. It is right on King Street with tons of places to eat and shop! If you (email hidden)ly neighborhood and like meeting new people and having a great time, this apartment is the place for you. The actual apartment is very clean, has a nice entertainment center and just feels like a safe place to stay. It is also super clean. I would highly recommend this apartment to anyone traveling to Sydney.
Thank you Louise!
My husband and I stayed at Louise's well equipped apartment at the end of October and found it suited our needs very well. The location was fantastic - just a short stroll to either St. Peter's or Newtown train stations which get you in to the CBD in 10 minutes. There's a whole host of eateries and convenience stores on King's St, not to mention an abundance of interesting shops. Louise was quick to respond to emails prior to our visit and followed up to make sure all was well after we arrived. The whole experience was simple and straightforward. I would definitely go back and recommend it as a great value for money stay in Sydney.
My adult daughter and I spent five days at Louise's apartment in Newtown. We loved it! It's very spacious, and the split level provides a fair amount of privacy. The neighborhood is fun, full of great places to eat (try the pizza at Gigi's) and several stores/delis for picking up food. It's also close to the train station so you can be in central Sydney in a jiffy.
The apartment is clean, and all the appliances are in perfect condition. Louise was a great hostess, giving us good directions and suggestions.
The advertised luxuries of location and modern cleanliness were matched with flying colours, and accompanied with a homely, welcoming atmosphere, comfortable surroundings and lovely and helpful host. A definite recommendation to anyone looking for a charming and easy stay in one of Sydney's greatest towns.
We had an amazing stay at Louise's gorgeous apartment! Newtown is a fantastic base for exploring Sydney with easy access to all the major sights. Louise was very helpful with tons of great suggestions for local places to eat and drink. Next time we're in Sydney, we definitely plan to stay here again!
