Description

The space

Big windows with shades if desired and lots of privacy. Window fan. Writing desk and eating table. Excellent water pressure in tub shower and lots of green along the back and side of the house for inside/outside enjoyment. It is a cozy studio apartment for one guest only. If you have a huge suitcase or need endless amounts of space, this is not the listing for you. If you'd like more photos, send me your email address and I will send you some. I prefer not to post pictures of my home space for privacy. I airbnb it when I am traveling for work, but I live and work here otherwise.

Guest access

Everything! T passes. Umbrellas. Strong high speed wifi. Big bathtub. Kitchen is equipped if you'd like to cook as there is a Whole Foods within a mile, Shaw's, smaller grocers, a health food store, excellent restaurants and bars, fun coffee shops, a bookstore, and ample street parking with my visitor pass. You won't want to stay anywhere else! NOTE: the studio is on the first level, not the ground level l; there are 4 large cement steps up from the garden path. It is not wheelchair accessible and the space is not set up for special needs, unfortunately. 'Garden Studio' does not mean garden/ground/downstairs level. It is a first floor apartment at the back of a house and it's very, very safe. One person only. No couples, no men. Women only.

Interaction with guests

I can be available and/or give you lots of privacy.

The neighborhood

The trees, gardens, accessibility to everything, best bagels in Boston, award winning Guilia Restaurant (make a reservation or grab a seat at the bar). Lots of al fresco dining, coffee shops, grocery stores, bookstores, and easy street parking with my resident permit for visitors! A very hip and cool neighborhood, and my street is very quiet if you want peace and stillness for writing, studying, and a good night's sleep with your very own garden right outside your window. There is a motion detector light that will go off at night as you walk down the garden path to find my steps and door.

Getting around

We are a 5 min walk from the Porter Square T (subway) stop and the bus lines. Harvard Law School and Lesley are a three minute walk. Harvard University and Harvard Square are ten minutes by foot on the most beautiful Oxford Street. Amazing coffee shops, laundry, grocery stores, bars and restaurants within 5 minutes.

Other things to note

Only women please, no couples and no men. I can't do same day bookings.

I require that my guests are quiet and respectful of the other tenants in the other apartments in this house. NO PETS, NO SHOES inside and NO SMOKING. No smokers (not even outside) at all please. I only accept women. No couples. The studio, kitchen and bathroom are perfect for one person. It is a sanctuary, which is why I don't post lots of photos. I'm a writer and an educator. I travel often for work so am happy to share my space with solo women who are here for a work conference, etc, at one of the many neighboring universities. I garden and grow food for the oldest women's shelter in Boston. I always find amazing accommodations through Airbnb when I travel (unless I'm staying with friends), and I'm a big believer in sharing our homes so as to not supporting the hotel industry.
