It's a lovely cottage, perfect for relaxing in the sun and going for walks, great trekking. Alfredo is a very helpful and friendly host. The cottage is a bit high up on the hill, the only way to get there is walking, but all very manageable. Alfredo was very kind as to bring the suitcase on his quad. Sea views from the cottage are breathtaking. Highly recommended as a hideaway place! Bring your backpack.
you can´t really describe this wonderful place ... the evenings: relaxing in the hammock on the terrace in front of the house, watching the eruptions of Stromboli. if you are "bored" by this sight ... or a little freezy take an outdoor shower at the back of the house (warm water!) overlooking the island of Vulcano.
then cooking at the outdoor kitchen, your pasta will be great!
During the day take a sunbath, watching the ships pass by and the falcons wheel above the house or walk down the hill to the beach of Canetto (steep path, mind your feet! ).
If you stay at this house you don´t need more for the perfect holiday!
A very special and amazing place with stunning views. We really loved it and hope to come back one day.
I totally agree with all other guests. If you read the description and the comments, you'll get a very good idea of how it's like.
We spent 9 days at Atollo and fell in love with that cute little cottage on the hill at Lipari. In reality it is even more beautiful than in the pictures. Alfredo restored the house with care and he made sure that we had everything we needed. He was very quick in answering questions and he was helpful all the time. Since this year there is an extendible windbreak at the front terrace, which makes it much more easier to cook when it´s windy. We loved the outdoor shower and both terraces with that spectacular view, where we almost spent the whole time, relaxing, reading books and use the calmness to regenerate from a busy year. Highly recommended.
We spent 10 days in the cottage in June. The location is absolutely magnificant und the cottage has everything you need for a simple but comfortable life. We went down to Lipari town a couple of times during our stay to buy groceries, and practically spent all the rest of the time on the terrace - best place to be on the island. The little outside kitchen and the outside shower are really cool. What to bring: mosquito repellent. What not to bring: Work - the internet connection is slow and unstable. Mobile connection for phone calls OK.
My boyfriend and I spent the first week of June in Alfredo's house. An unforgettable and almost magical experience. We loved the seclusion of the house, the immensity of the views from both sides of the house and the light, so much light. It was an incredibly peaceful and calming experience punctuated by exciting little adventures... the stinky mud bath in Vulcano, the mindblowing eruptions of Stromboli, the pure beauty of Panarea...
We also loved just spending entire days not leaving the house and its surroundings...reading in the sun, watching the birds hunting for lezards and looking at the view, which constantly changes depending on the weather, the wind, the boats. The house is very simple but we had everything we needed and Alfredo was helpful at all time. Last but not least... The outdoor shower is such a treat! :) Thank you Alfredo for this wonderful experience. Pauline & Floris
Amazing and beautiful place, located lonely on a hill and overlooking the see on two sides. From the terrace you can watch Stromboli's activities if the sight is clear. Alfredo is a great guy who makes your stay as smooth as possible. He brought our luggage up the 700m dirt track with his quad. The place is for nature lovers who are not afraid of lizards, insects and dogs passing by. They will be rewarded with a truly unique experience on of the most beautiful islands in the world!
Lipari is a beautiful island and this spot high on the hill is a special place within it. Alfredo was a great host. He picked me up, told me all I needed to know about the place and then left me to enjoy the it until it was time to go home.
Be sure to bring a head torch and spare batteries for the getting back up to the home at night.
I did a trip to Stromboli and the walk to the summit while I was there, which i'd highly recommend.
