Steve was an amazing host. His house is lovely, large and in a wonderful part of the old medina. Steve was professional and went out of his way to help us with anything we needed. I would absolutely recommend this house or his other guest house to anyone visiting Fes.
We had a five person group stay in his unique house in the Fes Medina. We loved it! It was really convenient to stay in the middle of town so we could experience Fes right from the rooftop and easily get to the activities and sightseeing that we scheduled. Steven was a fantastic host! FANTASTIC! Our group arrived in Fes in three different shifts (which I am sure was annoying), but he happily arranged bus station pickup, midnight airport pick up, and helped find a safe place to park the rental car. He offered us an amazing, delicious breakfast in his guest house each morning, helped us arrange a cooking class and city tour, and was just all-around very responsive and helpful to five visitors experiencing Fes and Morocco for the first time!
This is authentic medina living in a beautifully restored home in the old city. Although the surroundings look as if you are in the Middle Ages the house has all the mod cons. We really enjoyed our experience and will definitely book with Steven again - either her or in his B&B Riad.
We commend the seamless communication. Steven was very helpful, not only meeting us and taking us to our rental home, but also assisting us with queries and arranging for a porter with baggage cart upon departure.
In a bizarre twist of events Steve was on my flight from London so, needless to say, my arriving at the house was easy.
If they offer your help by meeting you to be shown to the house TAKE IT! He is a genuine host and not trying to scam you, it is genuinely difficult to find as it is in the heart of the medina.
The house is nothing short of amazing. This is something like my 20th airbnb let and undoubtably my favourite. I've stayed in various riads on previous trips and this is like having the whole riad to yourself! I very much doubt you will get such a genuine Moroccan living experience anywhere in the country for a straight forward rental, 'you get a lot for your buck', as they say.
The interior design of the place is faultless, it is just a genuinely lovely space to be in. The pictures really do not do it justice. The 30 stairs (I counted them) are incredibly steep, but, as long as you don't have mobility issues, add a great deal of character to the house. The shower is surprisingly powerful and very welcome after a day exploring the dusty medina. The kitchen is very well stocked and Steve also provides essentials such as tea, coffee, sugar, milk and drinking water so you can get settled in.
I had the pleasure of spending more time with Steve than most as we shred a ride from the airport into town (he can arrange a relatively and reliable driver to pick you up to save you being at the mercy of the airport taxis)and had a quick chat on the flight. He is a genuinely nice bloke and a great credit to airbnb.
I'm sure I'll be back!
We had a fantastic stay at Steven's house. It is beautifully decorated and the rooftop is just awesome. We appreciated the delicious breakfast served in the nearby riad belonging also to Steven. Last but not least, many thanks to both Mohammeds: Mohammed the manager and Mohammed the driver who always were very kind, helpful and their advice was priceless for us. Highly recommended!
