The Fig Tree House is located in the heart of Monteverde, easy walking distance to various nature trails and reserves, a local craft co-op and restaurants. The covered porch allows guests to appreciate the stunning Monteverde sunsets.

The space
The Fig Tree House is a new modern house with locally made furniture set in the forest of Monteverde. There are two bedrooms, one with a temperpedic queen sized bed and a second room with two single beds. The living room, dining room and kitchen all share the same space with tons of windows. One couch in the living room also opens up to a queen sized bed.

Equipped with modern appliances, the kitchen is fully stocked for cooking. There is a solar water heater that provides hot water in all the faucets and is perfect for taking a long bath after a muddy cloud forest hike. The water is also safe to drink from the tap. There is a washer and a dryer that is free of use, free wifi and parking.

The covered porch is ideal for enjoying a morning coffee, for spotting a local toucan or for watching an amazing Costa Rican sunset with a glass of wine. Or if the rain is coming down, then you can curl up with a good book in the cozy book nook.

I am originally from the east coast of the US but soon after moving to Monteverde, Costa Rica in 2003, I decided that this was home. I am an elementary school teacher at a local school and my husband, Dario, has his own graphic design and printing business. We are happy to be able to raise our two young boys, Liam ( 4) and Joshua (1) in such a rich and diverse environment full of flora, fauna and an inviting community. As a family we enjoy being outside, reading, cooking (and eating) and spending time with friends and family. We live next door to the Fig Tree House and are looking forward to being able to share this house with visitors who are curious about Monteverde and its rich biodiversity.
