A big thanks to Valter and Alberto for their hospitality and spent time with us
A big thanks also to Fabrizio for his kindness, his good address and unforgettable Tiramisu
This will remain very good memories for me and my family
My friends and I spent a wonderful week in the tower at Strozzavolpe. The location is very convenient for visiting Tuscany, and for just hanging out and taking in the views. It was hot the week we were there but cooled down at night and there was always a breeze blowing through the open windows.
Valter was great with communications, and Fabrizzio made us two lovely meals. The tower isn't hard to find after the first try :)
Advice to other visitors to the tower - Tuscany is buggy during the summer so you should bring insect repellent since none of the windows are screened. Also, this is true agroturismo so do some shopping before you arrive. The kitchen is more than adequate, but not stocked with anything other than dishes, pots and pans.
I would love to return and see this place in other seasons as well.
Valter is a very entertaining guy. We stayed in the apartment in the Poggibonsi /Luco castle. Great location, (Poggibonsi is close to Siena, Florance, to San Gimignano) the place is rustic, yet very relaxing and wonderful. Fabrizio the caretaker is a great guy and good resource for information.
We really enjoyed our stay and would return. Thank you.
Thank you so much for the wonderful stay. Luco was the perfect resting place for our family of six. Our children are 5, 4, 2, and 1 month and the castle was just the right place for us to relax and explore as well as a great jumping off point to enjoy other parts of Tuscany. Both Valter and Fabrizio were always kind and ready to help us with anything we needed. We would highly recommend this simple, rustic, spacious and charming home!
Thank you for being so responsive Valter! Amazing tower and in a great location / base for travelling around Tuscany. Good value for money and would return!
Our stay at Luco's Medieval Tower and in Tuscany had been a real dream!
The place is outstanding. The space in the Tower apartment is so large and convenient, especially for 2 couples and, even more, very easily. The kitchen could have been cleaner at our arrival but all the general setting was so exceptional that we accept it the way it was and did our affair regardless.
The view at the Tower is marvelous everywhere.
The rooms are comfortable, large and isolated from each other, ideal for privacy. The kitchen as a pleasant setting, even if it could be better equipped.
The location of the village is perfect for all the nicest places that visitors love to see in Tuscany. All facilities are also complete and very close, in the village and around.
We enjoyed every moments of our stay in the Tower.
We stayed 6 nights and every thing was convenient for us to do BBQ, laundry (there is a fine place outside, in the interior court, to do it…so pleasant) and also, wood fire in the fireplace (it as been a little bit cold last May).
To crown it all, Valter have been an exceptional host. He made for us arrangement for exquisite visit in Florence, Luco’s Castle while the sunset. A castle in the sky! Pure enchantment. Valter as been really a thoughtful host, very honest and we considered him as a real gentleman.
We spent 5 nights in the apartment in the medieval tower. It is in the Chianti countryside on a hill overlooking the beautiful Tuscan landscape. The only problem with the apartment and location is that it is so gorgeous that you don't feel like leaving and exploring the surrounding areas.
We did however manage to drag ourselves away for a few days to drive to Sienna and San Gimignano.
Perhaps the highlight though were the hosts Fabrizio and Paulo. They offered to cook dinners for us. Well little did we know that are both chefs and for a very modest charge they provided us with gourmet meals. A unforgettable experience.
The apartment was clean and comfortable. The large fireplace was a feature.
The kitchen however was not that well appointed and the wifi was very difficult.
All in all we would highly recommend this apartment.
We spent a week in Valter's Tuscan castle. It was wonderful. While not luxurious all the amenities were there and Fabrizio the caretaker was brilliant with information and any problems. It was a bonus that one of us had a little Italian to enable communications to be easier. Great comfortable beds with amazing views over the Tuscan countryside . Also a great base for touring, 20 mins to to San Gimignano, 30 mins to Siena by car and 1 hour from Florence.
Thank you Valter (and Fabrizio)! We sure had a great time in Luco. The view is outstanding and the tower, well, being there was an amazing experience! Thank you also for the private tour over Firenze! Italy is a magnificent country, sure Luco and its Medieval Tower is part of that!
We arrived at the Medievil Tower at Poggibinsi and what a delight. We had received emails from Valter on a couple of ocassions before leaving Australia and before arriving at the tower giving us instructions on where to go and how to get there.
The accomodation was beautiful and if you are looking at alternate style of accomodation in the Tuscan hills this is the place for you.
The beds were extremely comfortable and the kitchen was well equiped.
We were met by Alberto in the pouring rain who introduced us to the appartment and the area. He was very accomodating with ideas of what to do and where to go. A delight to chat with and it would have been lovely to have had more time with him.
The countryside was spectacular - just like the scenes you see in movies... It is a short drive to San Gimignano, Florence and Sienna but make sure you have your navigation set for the return journey home as we got lost!!
