This beautifully custom and sustainably built earth bag home, La Casa De Tierra, is nestled amongst the trees on a ridge in a supremely serene rainforest setting. Enjoy views of the jungle, mountains and Pacific Ocean from the comfort of the house or while lounging on the new deck. Just a half mile inland and 800 feet above the ocean, this enchanted sanctuary is the only house on our private 58-acre reserve. This house is wonderfully designed and has a spectacular 'garden' and (ocean) view. Visitors share a piece of the jungle with tucans, monkeys, butterflies and other beautiful creatures. A real treat!
Trina and I had a lovely stay at this beautiful and serene home up in the jungle! The property manager Ken was very helpful and attentive. This is probably the most beautiful earthen home I have had the privilege of staying in...truly a gem. We felt so grounded and relaxed here. The Cicadas were a bit loud in the daytime but soon we grew accustomed to them and it really wasn't much of an issue. For those seeking a true retreat in the tropics, this is it!
David and Lisa were very helpful and easy to deal with as well.
Thank You !!!
We stayed at La Casa De Tierra for 10 nights. Let me start by saying the house was beautiful, secluded, and relaxing. It was a perfect stay in Costa Rica. Waking up every morning to that view of the rainforest and Pacific ocean was something of a dream. The beach, Playa Ventanas, near-by was beautiful, safe, and semi-private for swimming. The local restaurants were amazingly delicious, Mama E Papa had the best Lasagna we have ever had in our entire lives. We enjoyed our stay tremendously, and would love to come back to stay again! Thank you Lisa, Dave, and Bart!
Ohhhh what a wonderful stay!!~So peaceful, so tranquil, an oasis in the jungle!~ We stayed in March 2012. The house is clean, tidy and ready to accommodate you! We met nice people around, who helped us willingly and we became friends..The only thing..Lisa and David should leave more up-to-date information on what is closed, what is open, and what has been changed around Ojochal. We left some notes in their guest book, hopefully they would not mind..:) the only thing was against us was time!!:) Enjoy!
