Interaction with Guests
I am currently working out of state and won't be there for my guest stays. I have a neighbor looking over my listing in case of an emergency.
A great place to take a quick walk/run after a long day or before your day begins. Close enough to take public transportation or bike to campus but away from campus enough to be relaxing.
Public transportation information can be found on the Champaign-Urbana CTA website. The house is 1 block from the intersection of S Fair and Springfield where there is a bus stop.
Other Things to Note
The dryer works except only using the time feature vs. the sensor timers (i.e. more dry and less dry)
The shower is operated with a pull down diverter in the bathtub spout. Pull down the ring spout down once adjusted to the desired temperature to divert water to the shower head.
Load the dishwasher with dishes you might use periodically
When host is around coordinate parking based on who might be leaving first in the morning
AI am flexible with people's arrival times but I would request that they be between the hours of 8 AM and 10 PM.
The Butterfly Bungalow was the perfect place for two Moms celebrating Mom's Weekend at the U of I! It's quiet and cozy and in a nice, safe neighborhood. Our host, Lisa, could not have been more helpful. It was our last Mom's Weekend so it was a little bittersweet, but the listing was as described and the beds were comfy!
The reservation was canceled 116 days before arrival. This is an automated posting.
The "Butterfly Bungalow" possesses this large log cabin feel where once inside the sense of being comfortably cocooned in the middle of wilderness slowly envelops. Then, the candle-lit lounge room insistently beckons the first chapter of a grand novel about the frontier ... or maybe this just happens when (twice) checking in after midnight... but I digress ...
Lisa is an organized, personable host, the guest room has lots of interesting books and the "wilderness" is a leafy, quiet neighbourhood ideal for a break from a busy conference.
What a sweet bungalow! I had a very nice stay, all amenities were provided, including a very comfortable bed!
Great choice. The house is ok, located on the main busline towards downtown (to the east) and close a commercial area (to the West).
Lisa and her family are great.
Lisa is the greatest! Her house is cute, comfortable and in a nice neighborhood. My room had a small desk that I used for homework. The bed was very comfortable. Annie (the resident dog) was comforting and fun to play with. The area was great for my short morning run. Appreciated the AC in the house afterwards :)
We had a great time at Lisa's. She made a fantastic summer squash and zucchini quiche for breakfast, as well as pour-over coffee. My favorite part about staying at the Butterfly was her dog, Annie, a stout little Corgi who made us feel right at home.
