Our studio loft has two walls of windows and is located in one of the best neighborhoods in Manhattan! It's huge by Manhattan standards and is located just two blocks away from the subway station!
*Views of the Empire State Building included.
Totally private studio loft in the Lower East Side. Two walls of windows, a queen size bed, mini-fridge, electric kettle and a shower & bathroom.
The building is quiet but there is street noise as you are in the heart of the city. It's a completely safe neighborhood and building but there's also an intercom with a camera so you always know who you're buzzing into the building.
This is my old art studio that I've turned into a guest apartment for friends & family. My family and I live next door so we're around in case you need anything or having trouble figuring out where to go.
The studio is large(especially for NYC) and totally filled with light in the daytime, although black-out shades are on all the windows for waking up from those late NYC nights.
The loft is located near the heart of the Lower East Side and has easy access to four train lines to take you to most places in Manhattan and Brooklyn. The building is a pre-war building and the loft is on the 4th floor of a walkup. i.e. no elevator.
Like I said, the apartment is my old art studio so there is quite a bit of artwork on the walls(not all mine), a desk to work at, and a bookshelf filled with art books, design books, novels & graphic novels.
You will have access to the entire loft. This is a private residence and it will be all yours as you stay here.
Interaction with Guests
As long as I'm in town I try to meet everyone that stays at the apartment. We live next door so I'm always around in case you need anything.
We're on the border of Chinatown and the Lower East Side so you get a huge heaping of culture on every block. It's full on city life but still a neighborhood without giant high rises.
There's a bus stop right outside the building and trains within two blocks of our apartment.
Other Things to Note
There is definitely street noise in the loft. We've lived here long enough to not notice but please know you can hear the street level noise.
The main rule is to enjoy your time here and in NYC. Other than that, I'm looking for people that will keep the place clean and treat it as they would their own home.
There's absolutely no smoking, parties or pets(sorry, I'm allergic) allowed and a maximum 3 guests.
This loft was fantastic! I travelled to NYC with 2 friends for the first time and we were really pleased with the loft and location. It's close to a couple of subway stations, making everything in Manhattan quick and easy to get to.
Lance was a great host. He was very helpful in providing recommendations and directions for things to see and do in the area. Lance was quick to respond when we contacted him, and acted quickly when something needed to be fixed in the apartment.
Although there was no kitchen that turned out to be a blessing in disguise, there are so many great places to eat close by. There is a kettle and refrigerator so we could make drinks and keep food.
I would recommend this apartment to anyone, and would stay here again if I ever end up back in NYC.
I stayed with Lance twice in a short span and both times I truly enjoyed myself. He's easy to communicate with and very accommodating. I would recommend this place very highly!
Beautiful apartment in a great location. Lance very kindly waited up until the early morning when my flight was late in order to let me in and make me feel welcome. Would definitely stay here again!
Lance is a great and attentive host. He allowed a late check out for me given there is no guest after me and my train was quite late. The studio was very spacious, clean, and nicely Styled. The noise level was quite high - but that was clearly disclosed in description and I wore ear plugs so it was ok in the end. Tks so much lance!
Lance was great, the apartment was amazing, nothing but good things here. Would stay again.
This place is so cool. Up a few flights of stairs and through a series of doorways you'll find yourself in a wonderfully large space with huge windows and a great view of the Empire State Building. The sounds of the street are ever-present but the complimentary ear plugs took me right out of it and into sleep. Location is fantastic too with all of LES just steps away.
