Beautiful Artists Studio in LES

Loft - Entire home/apt · Allen St, New York, NY 10002, United States

The Space

Totally private studio loft in the Lower East Side. Two walls of windows, a queen size bed, mini-fridge and shower & bathroom.

The building is quiet so it's easy to get a good nights rest and there's an intercom with a camera so you always know who you're buzzing into the building.

This is my old art studio that I've turned into a guest apartment for friends & family. My family and I live next door so we're around in case you need anything or having trouble figuring out where to go.

The studio is fairly large(especially for NYC) and totally filled with light, although black-out shades are on all the windows for waking up from those late NYC nights.

Loft is located near the heart of the Lower East Side along with trains only blocks away to take you to most places in Manhattan and Brooklyn. The building is a pre-war building and the loft is on the 4th floor of a walkup. i.e. no elevator.

Like I said, the apartment is my old art studio so there is quite a bit of artwork on the walls(not all mine), a desk to work at, an easel for painting and a bookshelf filled with art books, design books, novels & graphic novels.

  • We loved this apartment! It is in a great location, with lots of great little bars, cafés and restaurants nearby. The apartment itself is very spacious, bright and clean. It's really stylish and cool and looks exactly like the pictures on the website. Like other people have already said, it is noisy, but that is not exclusive to this apartment, that's just New York! And we very quickly got used to it and managed to sleep fine. I would fully recommend this apartment - we loved our stay here and would definitely stay here again.

  • Lance's appartment is fully up to our expectations, the way it is in the pictures, that is the way you will find it in real life. We loved the place, but it's true what other people wrote: you must be able to sleep with earplugs, otherwise it's noisy. But at the same time that's part of the fun: being in the middle of this great city, with Orchard Street around the corner with nice café's, shops and the Tenement Museum.
Lance is really nice and relaxed, we felt absolutely welcome to the place.
Thanks Lance, we hope to come back again!

  • We had a great time in Lance's apartment. We walked almost everywhere whilst using the L.E.S as a base and felt like locals for a week.

The apartment is huge and as described and Lance was a pleasure to deal with. He answered any questions we had regarding transport or spots to eat as well as supplying water/juice and cool books to look at. There are ear plugs provided but if you are light sleeper you may need a wine or two to help you out further but don't let this turn you off.

It is right in the hub of a young happening area on the fringe of Chinatown and L.E.S so be prepared to be amongst it all. Very safe and secure and very NYC.

We tried so many local cafes and eateries and weren't let down. Black Tree on Orchard is a must if you like it local.

    Thanks

  • Really, really cool spot. It's a huge pad, with an amazing feel to it, decorated with cool art and Lance's impressive collective of graphic novels and related art books. Huge windows around the entire place makes an already large place feel even larger. The pictures don't do the place justice. Just be prepared: you're not in a quiet neighborhood. Right in Chinatown, it can get noisy at night -- but your host provides earplugs.
