Small very private bedroom with a very comfortable pillow top queen size bed located in the very front of the apartment so you will not have to walk through a common area or living room to get to it. Very quiet as there is no window facing out to the noisy streets. The bedroom is located right near the shared bathroom, so it will be kind of like your own bathroom as your area is very far from mine. The apartment is located on the second floor if an elevator building.
Even though it's small, there is a lot of storage space as there is a nice size dresser in the room with 3 big drawers. On the dresser is a small flat screen TV with cable. On the inside and outside of your door are many hooks to store clothing, coats etc. The room is pin drop quiet because it has no window, but it is very cozy and comfortable and very nicely decorated. and there is a dressing area outside of your room so it feels bigger than it really is.
The bed is a very comfortable queen size bed with nice fresh clean linens. Fluffy white fresh clean towels are also available during your stay, as many as you may need.
Outside your room there is a small dressing area with a nice big mirror. This makes the room feel a bit bigger. There is a little sitting stool here that you can sit on to remove your shoes etc. and a foldable tray table.
There is free super fast WIFI available. I also have a printer if you need to print something you can email it to me. An ironing board, clothes steamer and hair dryer are also available.
There is also parking on the street if you have a car. Sometimes it's easy, sometimes you have a circle a bit. Parking garages are all around as well.
You will have your room and the dressing area space just outside your area to spread out, unpack etc. The kitchen is the first area upon entering the apartment, please feel free to store food in the refrigerator, make your self coffee or tea and prepare breakfast if you'd like.
The bathroom is located just next to your room, so you won't have to worry about waking or bothering me :-). It is a shared bathroom, so I will always be very quiet and I also do not have a schedule so I won't need the bathroom every morning. I sleep late so it's all yours pretty much in the mornings. The shower and bathtub are very clean and the water pressure is great!
The area beyond the kitchen is private and off limits as this leads to my studio and my private area.
Interaction with Guests
I am a jewelry designer. I'm very friendly and love to meet new people. I am around as I work from home during the day. I have a lot of knowledge about the city as I've been here for a long long time. I will guide you and help you figure out whatever it is that you may need. If I am unable to be present during your check in I am able to leave the keys for you securely and easily this happens very rarely.
You will love this neighborhood. Chelsea is known for it's great restaurants, Art Galleries, it's close proximity to Union Square, The West Village and the Meatpacking District and historical landmarks. It's located on the Westside of lower Manhattan and near many subways.
My apartment is a 10 minute walk from Union Square, West Village, Meatpacking District and Highline. It is also located about 2 minutes away from these subway lines:
A,C,E (Blue line), 1,2,3 (Red Line), cross town L (Grey line), F,M (Orange Line). The 4,5,6 (Red Line) and B,D (Orange line) are located about 10 minutes walk away.
The A and E go direct to JFK airport so easy to arrive from the subway and leave, just 1 city block away!
Other Things to Note
WEEKEND CHECK IN:
IF YOU ARE CHECKING IN AFTER 6PM ON A FRIDAY OR ANYTIME DURING A SATURDAY OR SUNDAY DURING THE SUMMER MONTHS MOSTLY, I OR MY ASSISTANT (WHO ONLY WORKS MONDAY THROUGH FRIDAY) MAY NOT BE AVAILABLE TO CHECK YOU IN. THIS IS FINE, PLEASE DO NOT PANIC AS I HAVE A LOCK BOX OUTSIDE OF THE BUILDING THAT HOLDS YOUR KEYS TO THE APARTMENT. I WILL PROVIDE YOU WITH THE CODE TO OPEN IT AND LET YOU KNOW IN ADVANCE IF NO ONE CAN BE HERE. I WILL ALWAYS LET YOU KNOW. THE LOCKBOX IS IN MY BIKE BASKET LOCATED JUST IN FRONT OF MY BUILDING'S MAIN DOOR. ALSO, IF POSSIBLE, I CAN LEAVE THE KEYS WITH A TRUSTED NEIGHBOR WHO WILL BE HERE WHEN YOU ARRIVE. THE LOCKBOX IS THE LAST RESORT IF A NEIGHBOR ISN'T AVAILABLE.
The room is very quiet because it does not have a window to the outside.
There is a very shy female cat Pinkerton who will not bother you at all and a very sweet, friendly 10 yr old female Cocker Spaniel named Daisy Mae who will check you out upon arrival. They both stay with me on my side of the apartment mostly and I can block them from entering your area if they bother you, please do not be concerned to tell me as I would like to make your stay as comfortable as possible. :-)
Please, no shoes in the apartment. You may leave them in the dressing area just near the front door.
No cooking in kitchen, you may use the refrigerator to store juices, yoghurt or make tea etc. but please no major food preparation or cooking is allowed unless otherwise arranged like if I am out of town and you have the place to yourself for a few days but you are in the greatest city in the world and there are many inexpensive places to eat around here, enjoy them!
Please, no unannounced house guests
Please, no loud music.
Please do not enter the space beyond the kitchen doing so will result in the end of your stay.
Very comfortable bed; private; very accurate description. Warm on an extremely cold weekend! Will definitely come back!
Joie described the place perfectly and gave us an accurate description of what her apartment would be like. The neighborhood was great, and it was very close to amazing restaurants and tons of other things to do.
Great location. Great host. Comfy bed. Lot's of privacy. Very accurate description. Will definitely come back!
The location was perfect for me. Everything stated was available. The building is safe and clean. The apartment is very quiet. She has a dog, perhaps a cat, which caused no concern. The host, like I am, is an animal rights activist, which, in my eyes gives her the highest score.
The bedroom was adequate, but a little warm, if door is not left open a bit. I did not get the chance to tell Joie. Both of us were real busy.
I'm not sure about the "breakfast" part because I had my own food. Joie is only 2 blocks from 16th and 5th Avenue where I have family living. I could not have asked for a better location.
Had I a need to go back to Manhattan, I would not hesitate to contact Joie via AirBNB.
The reservation was canceled 23 days before arrival. This is an automated posting.
