I stayed in Claire's flat for 4 nights in September and had a wonderful stay there. Her flat is very cosy, bright, comfortable and with beautiful views over London. I felt at home . The bedroom is spacious and has a comfortable bed. Claire was a very responsive host and provided all the info I needed to enjoy my stay. She had left a booklet in the flat with a lot of information about the area, including restaurants recommandation. She also advised on running routes from her flat.
The flat is in a great location, close to Old Street, Hoxton street, Brick lane, and there is a direct bus to Angel/Islington. I highly recommend this place.
With literally 7hrs between contacting Claire and arriving in London, I was set-up. Everything was super easy, like super easy for London. A pretty simple Tube ride from airport to within a 10 min walk of the apt. A, B, C stuff...really easy and comfortable (note: I've found this isn't always the case in London)
The apt itself is located in what I would describe as one of the hippest neighbourhoods in London (there are many, but this one is really, really cool). The layout is perfect, the internet connection was seamless and easy and I felt safe the entire journey. The walls are decorated with super cool art, the furniture is comfortable and unique. The whole thing was very picturesque.
The neighbourhood was amazing.
If you're familiar with Toronto, this would be Queen East or Parkdale. Los Angeles...it would be Echo Park/Silver Lake and Montreal it would be between Old Montreal and the Plateau. Oh, it's like Christianne in Copenhagen (minus the green zone).
The icing on the cake is Claire herself. Her energy, sincerity and welcoming vibe was a treat. It was a very easy conversation from the first hello. She made the whole stay easy, constant communication and was in constant contact to make sure everything was okay. (which, it was)
I even ran into a passport issue...(which was a disaster) and she was so, so, so cool about helping me out and making a difficult situation a lot more manageable.
Thanks so much Claire! Let me know if you ever make it to Banff!!
thank you Claire. My son and I loved the cozy feeling of your place, the light AND of course the view. Great location too. All the best to you. Gisele
It was a delight visiting Claire's fantastic sky-high flat with an all-London view once more. Claire is a great host, and the location of her place is perfect for anyone who prefers East London to the boring old West End with its tedious Leicester Square and Oxford Circus and all the same-old, same-old places (although you can get to the West End easily enough if you really want to…). The flat has everything you need and is a great base for a stay in London.
The reservation was canceled 79 days before arrival. This is an automated posting.
claire's flat was lovely and we had a good time staying there. the views from the balcony are fantastic!

I'm a London born artist. My flats are full of art work by myself and others and a lot of the furniture is also made by local artisans. I love London and I hope to show off the best of it!
I'm very happy to recommend local galleries, bars, cafes or clubs. It might also be possible to use my art studio, which is 3 minute walk from the flat.
My favourite part of London is where the flat is: Hoxton/Shoreditch in Central East London. I'm usually nearby unless I'm out of town - I do travel quite a lot but have a good team to help with the flats while I'm abroad.
I run marathons, so let me know if you want any advice on running routes. It's possible to run for 20 or 30 miles through parks, along canals, marshes and woodland - only being on a road for a couple of minutes from the flat!
I speak French, some Spanish and a little Japanese.
