QV light filled private bed/bath

House - Private room · Pemberton St, Philadelphia, PA 19147, United States

The Space

This rental is located on a quiet, tree-lined block in the Queen Village section of Philadelphia. There are two fireplaces, backyard, roof deck, and two full bathrooms/bedrooms. The third (top) floor is the Airbnb suite. The house is charming, filled with plants and interesting artifacts from places around the world.

The third floor of this bright row home is completely private. There is a full futon bed, full bath with shower/bathtub and private roof deck access. The roof deck is private, peaceful and serene. You have a view of the skyline, too. During holidays, fireworks from Penn's landing can be enjoyed from the deck.

Please note there is a cat on the premises. the house's staircase is spiral stairs so you may want to leave your high heels and steamer trunk at home!

This location is close to public transportation, many bars, restaurants, and 10 minute walk to the historic attractions of Philadelphia.

Queen Village is a wonderful neighborhood of Philadelphia-filled with lots of different shops, restaurants, history, gardens, and a strong sense of community. The subway is a ten minute walk (either to Broad street or to Market) but there are buses that run almost on every numbered street in Queen Village.

Guest Access

Guests have the entire third floor of the home-bedroom, full bath and roof deck. In the room is a coffee pot, coffee, and teas. The honey is local from my community garden. A Philadelphia Zagat's and guidebook is in the room, too.
Guests are welcome to store small amounts of food in the refrigerator.
Wifi network is for guest use.

Interaction with Guests

My schedule dependings on the season, weekday versus weekend, and travel plans.
I respect your privacy and never visit the third floor during guests' visit. I am always available in person or via phone/text to provide information and recommendations.

Getting around

This neighborhood is extremely walkable and has lots of fun things within a couple blocks. The historic sites are within 10 minutes walk or a short bus or taxi ride. I am about 8-10 minutes walk to Septa subway line, too.

  • Loved staying at Michelle's, right around the corner from my daughter! Great neighborhood, comfortable house and very welcoming host. Thanks, Michelle! I'll be back.

  • Michelle has a cute, comfortable space in a very convenient location. She knows what she's doing as a host, and had just been doing some spring planting to beautify the lovely balcony patio that is included with the space. Thanks again for everything Michelle!

  • We had a lovely stay in Queen's Village! The neighborhood was adorable and not too far of a walk from all the major "attractions" we wanted to see in Philly. The private third floor was just what we needed to come back to after a busy conference and offered everything we needed. The host had the space stocked with tea and chocolates, too, as well as a ton of great books to read. Nice touch!

  • Staying in this home was a pleasure. Michelle was fantastic - helpful but respectful of my privacy. She was quick to respond to questions, and very knowledgeable about this fun neighborhood and Philadelphia, in general. The space was clean, friendly, and I had plenty of space to work and relax.

  • Michelle was great! We actually didn't meet -- I got in really late and left really early, but she made everything really easy and had everything set up so nicely for me. Her place was so cute and perfectly located! I would definitely stay there again.

  • This was a really great place to stay. Really close to a lot of cool things and the room and house were really nice. Michelle was really nice to us and gave us recommendations and was overall really nice. We would happily stay here again. Even though we had never met her before, Michelle was so welcoming and felt like someone we already knew. The bed was also comfy.

  • Michelle's apartment is a fun, comfortable and welcoming reflection of the wonderfully eclectic neighborhood she lives in. Safe, near Old Town, South Street and offering its own array of restaurants, cafes and small shops, the location of this space is ideal. The room itself is spacious with a beautiful deck offering a rooftop-view of the city. It may not have a door, but is incredibly quiet and private! Michelle herself is warm, conversational and full of tips about local eateries and activities. We would happily stay here again!

  • We had a lovely time in Michelle's apartment. The location is awesome, so many good things to see and do within walking distance. Michelle was also super helpful with recommendations and very easy going in terms of organising our arrival. Just wished we could have stayed longer!

About
We love to travel when we can and have visited lots of fun destinations including Argentina, Portugal, France, Italy, Mexico, Costa Rica, and other locations. We would love to live in Buenos Aires one day! Our house is filled with lots of interesting books-poetry, literature and cookbook collections. We are total foodies and will eat almost anything once! and of course, the house has many fun condiments like smoked sea salt, black and white truffle oil, and other random cooking ingredients. In the summer, we love to garden and our deck and patio are filled with flowers and fresh herbs.
