Description

The space

This rental is located on a quiet, tree-lined block in the Queen Village section of Philadelphia. There are two fireplaces, backyard, roof deck, and two full bathrooms/bedrooms. The third (top) floor is the Airbnb suite. The house is charming, filled with plants and interesting artifacts from places around the world.

The third floor of this bright row home is completely private. There is a queen sized bed with a brand new memory foam mattress, full bath with shower/bathtub and private roof deck access. The roof deck is private, peaceful and serene. You have a view of the skyline, too. During holidays, fireworks from Penn's landing can be enjoyed from the deck A white noise machine is provided to give an extra sense of privacy. If you do not enjoy the noise, please let me know or turn it off.

Depending on my schedule, if you are interested in booking the entire house, my full house listing is Light Filled Queen Village home.

Please note there is a new cat on the premises. He is different than the cat you may read about it the reviews. My new cat is named Oliver-he is very friendly and a snuggler! Make sure you block the stairs if you do not want a loving visitor. the house's staircase is spiral stairs so you may want to leave your high heels and steamer trunk at home!

This location is close to public transportation, many bars, restaurants, and 10 minute walk to the historic attractions of Philadelphia.

Queen Village is a wonderful neighborhood of Philadelphia-filled with lots of different shops, restaurants, history, gardens, and a strong sense of community. The subway is a ten minute walk (either to Broad street or to Market) but there are buses that run almost on every numbered street in Queen Village.

Guests have the entire third floor of the home-bedroom, full bath and roof deck. In the room is a coffee pot, coffee, and teas. The closet has hangers and shelves for you to store your belongings, along with a first aid kit and iron. A Philadelphia Zagat's and guidebook is in the room, too.
Guests are welcome to store small amounts of food in the refrigerator.
Wifi network is for guest use.

My schedule depends on the season, weekday versus weekend, and travel plans.
I respect your privacy and never visit the third floor during guests' visit. I am always available in person or via phone/text to provide information and recommendations.

This neighborhood is extremely walkable and has lots of fun things within a couple blocks. The historic sites are within 10 minutes walk or a short bus or taxi ride. I am about 8-10 minutes walk to Septa subway line, too.

My schedule dependings on the season, weekday versus weekend, and travel plans.
I respect your privacy and never visit the third floor during guests' visit. I am always available in person or via phone/text to provide information and recommendations.

The neighborhood

A homey, welcoming tangle of narrow blocks, pert architecture and mature trees, the area was founded as a working-class suburb, but was eventually folded into the city proper in the mid-1800s. This unique history, coupled with its prime waterfront location and the old-time aesthetic charm it shares with neighboring Society Hill, helps Queen Village stand out as one of Philly’s most stable and stirring pockets of city life.

Getting around

This neighborhood is extremely walkable and has lots of fun things within a couple blocks. The historic sites are within 10 minutes walk or a short bus or taxi ride. I am about 8-10 minutes walk to Septa subway line, too.

There is free, overnight street parking available starting at 10pm and if available, I can help you find a spot. Generally, it is advisable to try and arrive before 5PM which is when more spaces will be available.

If you are arriving from the Philadelphia International Airport (PHL) you can take the Airport Line towards Center City Philadelphia to "Market East" and either take a 5 min cab ride or walk 10 min.

Or if you arrive at 30th st station, take the Market Frankford Line (Subway) towards Frankford and get off on the 5th St. stop. From there you can take a 5 min cab or 10min walk.

Alternatively, you can take a taxi from the airport to our front door, there is a standard set fee of: $28.50 plus tip.

We love to travel when we can and have visited lots of fun destinations including Argentina, Portugal, France, Italy, Mexico, Costa Rica, and other locations. We would love to live in Buenos Aires one day! Our house is filled with lots of interesting books-poetry, literature and cookbook collections. We are total foodies and will eat almost anything once! and of course, the house has many fun condiments like smoked sea salt, black and white truffle oil, and other random cooking ingredients. In the summer, we love to garden and our deck and patio are filled with flowers and fresh herbs.
