Beautiful and private one-bedroom apartment located on a leafy, quiet street. You’ll be staying in a safe and friendly neighbourhood with a huge variety of ethnic restaurants, amazing parks, and independent grocers and bakeries. Walk to Dufferin subway (5 min) and the award-winning Dufferin Grove Park (30 seconds) -- the park has skating rinks, a fabulous playground, a weekly organic market, and a wood-burning pizza oven. The house is also within walking distance of the restaurants, galleries and cafes of several of Toronto’s most interesting neighbourhoods (Ossington strip, Parkdale, Queen West, Annex, Little Italy). (website hidden) gives our location a perfect score of 100, calling it a “walker’s paradise”. It is truly an ideal place to stay for anyone visiting Toronto and we encourage you to read our reviews to find out what our guests have said.

The apartment is on the main floor and basement of a lovely 100-year old house, and has a fireplace, a large, private backyard, and hardwood floors throughout. The open concept main floor has a living room (fireplace, pull-out couch with queen-sized mattress, and TV with premium digital cable), dining room (table seats 6 and also makes an excellent desk/work area), and a large kitchen stocked with everything needed to cook for yourself or for several guests.

The large bedroom has hardwood floors and a very comfortable queen-sized bed. The bathroom was recently renovated and has a tub and shower. Bedroom and bathroom linens are 100% cotton. Full disclosure: basement ceiling height is about 6 feet, 4 inches with the exception of two areas that are 5,7 (a heating duct that runs above the bed, and a beam located at the bottom of the stairs).

There is a huge deck off of the kitchen, and the backyard is large and private with great trees and perennials, and also comes with a charcoal barbeque for your personal use.

Other features:
- Free wireless internet -- fast and unlimited
- Free laundry with an ensuite washer and dryer
- Child friendly! Full-sized crib available for infants and toddlers.
- Plenty of guide books for Toronto and surrounding areas
- Large, private backyard with deck, barbeque
- Fully stocked kitchen...herbs/spices, pots/pans, microwave, blender, etc.
- Board games, books, stereo, digital TV and DVDs to make your stay more enjoyable
- Dufferin subway station, College St. streetcars, and Dufferin buses are minutes away
- Street parking available with permit issued by city (~$9/day, $14/2 days; $23/week)

We are native Torontonians and live upstairs with our dog and cat. I speak Portuguese (Brazilian) and conversational Spanish. We honour your privacy, but we are always happy to assist you in making sure that your stay is enjoyable. We very much look forward to having you as our guest!

  • My 10 years old twins and I enjoyed 5 nights at Sandra's. They kids slept upstairs on the pullout couch, and I took the nice big bed downstairs. The two story apartment has everything we needed, and more. The kitchen is great and has everything for cooking, the beds are comfortable and the place is very clean. Sandra is a great host, even getting me some cotton bags for my shopping because I don't like to use plastic. The location is excellent too….try the coffee at The Common up on Bloor St for a sweet morning jolt! I highly recommend this place and will book back on my next trip to Canada.

  • We took a 'great leap' to travel for the first time abroad in a long while and visit our daughter to see her graduate, which was an amazing day. The stay at Sandra's place made the trip that much more special. She was a wonderful host and very (website hidden) helpful and friendly. The apartment was clean and very homely. We also loved the small detail of our names on the door bell while we were there. She made us feel very comfortable and at home. We would highly recommend Sandra and her husband's place to any one who wishes to visit Toronto.'Totally awesome' from two very happy guests.

  • Sandra was most helpful and accommodating regarding my arrival and leaving time. I needed to come back and pick up my bags later in the day and there was no hassle arranging that. The keys work! I hate it when keys are iffy! The suite is roomy, and bright on the main floor; for me it worked well as I had a small sales conference to prepare for and there was plenty space to spread out my stuff. Internet worked (which is a great blessing) and not always the case even in fancy hotels. The rate is reasonable and I found the accommodation to be clean and very much as per write-up. For me it was not a problem but the stairs down to the basement are a bit awkward - so anyone with walking issues should take note. The bathroom had everything I needed and the basement bedroom was nice and cool and quiet - I slept like a log! The binder that Sandra has provided with a wide spread of information was really helpful. I used it for taxi info, eating options and finding the nearest bank/transit, etc. Sandra put my name in the slot at the front door - so if some-one was picking me up it was easy - a small, but nice touch. Wish I had had more time to sit on the back deck - but as mine was a business trip only got out there once and it was pleasant and private.

  • Many thanks to Sandra for her help! She was very friendly, and even recommended a restaurant, which turned out to be one of our weekend's best outings.
We were four and the house was just perfect. We even brunched on the patio.
    Very nice place.

  • Sandra was wonderful. She greeted me upon arrival. She has an entire notebook in the home with everything you need to know about the community, local pubs, restaurants, etc. It is a GREAT neighborhood. when I told locals I was meeting where I was staying, they said "Thats a great neighborhood". The home was perfect. Full kitchen, she had coffee for us to use, beers in the fridge and we had everything we needed for a short two night stay. It is an older house so the floors creak, and you can hear a lot from outside and as the owners take the dog out in the morning. If you are light sleeper and sleeping on their pull out couch it could effect you but if you are not a light sleeper or sleeping downstairs in the bedroom, it is an absolute HEAVEN! The place is gorgeous and decorated extremely cute. She has a lot of books about Toronto. You have to take a Limo (black car) from the airport which runs you $50+. We ended up using uber for cabs and rides while we were here and it worked well. If I come back to Toronto, I would certainly consider staying here again.

  • My young son and I stayed at Sandra's for 4 nights. The apartment, including the bed, was very comfortable and had everything we needed.
Sandra was very accommodating and welcoming. She picked up a few groceries items for us in advance of our arrival and accommodated our late departure when my son fell ill. I would definitely recommend staying in this space.

  • Sandra's town home was spectacular! Cozy yet amply spacious, and a very comfortable bed as well. The best part, however, was the location. It's located amongst a host of awesome ethnic restaurants and is very accessible by foot. Sandra made sure we had a lovely stay, and was more than willing to help us in whichever capacity we needed. Be sure to book with her!
