Peaceful, secluded, self-contained gite with wonderful views over a valley. The gite has 1 double bedroom, and another bedroom containing 4 single beds. There is also an open-plan kitchen / living room / dining room, and a large terrace overlooking the large garden. Finally, there is a large outdoor table and BBQ area, ideally for sunny summer evenings. The gite is on the edge of Loubés-Bernac, within easy driving distance of many Bastide towns (Duras, Eymet and St.Foy-La-Grande) , Bergerac (25 mins) and Bordeaux (1 hour). Within the village there is a convenience store and restaurant (both less than 5 minutes walk away). And there are vineyards galore! Including one right next door to the gite. Finally the popular Plum Village retreat is 5 minutes drive away.
It is worth noting that a car is essential - the village is not on a bus route, or does it have a train station.
Please note, for bookings during June, July and August, a minimum 7 night stay is required.

Fantastic place for a fantastic holiday. I felt like been in a fairy tale. The landscape is beautiful, the house is set in the Middle of the countryside of the region of bordoux, near Bergerac, preatty town.
The house is very authentic And has Lot of character.
Hope to Go back one day!!!
Despite an inauspicious start to our holiday caused by a bad car accident and a night in hospital, our stay at Matts gite was the perfect spot to rest and recuperate. The village and surrounding areas of Petit Loubes are stunning and good use was made of the next door neighbour and local vintner Mons. Serge Lagroye and his great products! The gite is extremely comfortable and well appointed with just about everything needed to ensure a very good time was had by all.
Gite du Petit Loubes is an absolute gem. The town of Loubes-Bernac is very quit and lovely. The gite exceeds expectation, both in terms of size, location and loveliness. The surroundings and views are very beautiful. Highly recommended!
We absolutely loved our stay at Matt's Gite. It was a truly memorable stay on our visit to France. Located in a tiny wee village out of Bergerac on a nice piece of land. It was so relaxing and we had great weather which made it perfect. It is a small walk to the local restaurant and there is a little shop which sells all the basic food and wine etc and has fresh bread and croissants in the morning. I would recommend having a car as it is a good 20 minute drive to Bergerac. We went to the markets on the Saturday in Ste Foy which were fantastic! About a 10 min drive. Really cute and quite large we wandered around and bought some great food to cook up back at the gite later that night. There are some lovely restaurants about 10minute drive away which were fantastic and very indulgent! A great trip which we will remember for a long time!
If you are looking for a peaceful retreat in the country with a proximity to sightseeing, you have found the gîte for you! There are beautiful small towns, vineyard and castles in close proximity. Take a wrong turn, its ok, as you will discover another sight off the beaten path.
The gîte is fully equipped for your stay. It is a glimpse of the past with modern amenities. The majestic fireplace brought a touch of needed warmth and coziness on cooler evenings. The large terrasse, patio and garden gives you options as to where to sit to enjoy the view. The garden was also ideal for my dog!
Matt was helpful from the outset, was flexible and made the process easy. I recommend his gîte without hesitation.
Matt's gite is special!! It's a charming stone cottage in the middle of gorgeous vineyards and orchards, with a stunning view of an old chateau across a beautiful valley. The cottage has been modernized and tastefully decorated without compromising its lovely, ancient simplicity. We enjoyed our cool March evenings by the fireside and the utter silence of the countryside. Mornings were a bit brisk but an electric heater in the bathroom made for comfortable showers. We'd love to return with another couple sometime to share this unique vacation experience. Thanks, Matt.
