About this listing
What I love about this space is the attention to detail in the design of the space and the location! So close to all the amenities of UpTown Waterloo.
This studio room and ensuite serenity space is perfect for someone (or some-two!) looking for a place to get a relaxing sleep in the heart of the UpTown. The room and ensuite are used on a part-time basis for yoga therapies. Infused with a taste of the East - Balinese gamelan gong, Chinese wedding cabinet and Japanese zaisu chairs - the space converts to an inexpensive, yet artful, rest experience!
Exposed brick ensuite opens to private bath on one side and infra-red sauna and shower on the other side. Turkish cotton towels and personal care amenities are provided. A tea service is available.
Wireless internet, parking available. UpTown restaurants are just one block away. Waterloo's landmark Huether Hotel is a 2 minute walk; Princess Cinemas is a 4-minute walk; Japanese restaurant is a 6 minute walk. Local coffee houses as well as Coffee Culture and Starbucks are also within walking vicinity. Perimeter Institute and CIGI can be walked in 10-15 minutes. Bus stop in 3 minutes. Close to Wilfrid Laurier, University of Waterloo, RIM and Conestoga College. All are just a 3 minute drive or 10-20 minute walk.
Guests can choose from futon bedding or Coleman Double-High Airbed.
Quiet relaxation, please. No additional guests; no animals, no smoking, please.
Wireless internet access instructions will be printed and available in the studio room.
Bedding (sheets, pillows and feather duvet) will be provided for daily and weekly guests.
Please allow 30 minutes for sauna to reach temperature. Please do not use any substances in the sauna - it is a dry infrared sauna. Please do not allow skin to touch the wood of the sauna - cover bench and backrests with towels.

I am an avid traveller. I lived 12 years abroad - in Japan and Singapore and havent spent a full year at home since! I studied religion and culture in my university days and currently teach it at a local high school. I love the outdoors and love yoga, have a scuba diving license and, this year, tried my hand at stock car racing.
I am interested in alternative and complementary health modailities, and spend much of my free time studying them. I have a certificate in cranial sacral therapy, earned in Singapore, a certificate in shiatsu massage, earned in Japan, and am working towards my specialist as a biofeedback technician, studying out of California.
My favourite quote: “The important thing is not to stop questioning. Curiosity has its own reason for existing. One cannot help but be in awe when one contemplates the mysteries of eternity, of life, of the marvelous structure of reality. It is enough if one tries merely to comprehend a little of this mystery every day. Never lose a holy curiosity.” —Albert Einstein
