RECENTLY COMPLETELY REFURBISHED - JAN 2013!
Hi ... I hope I can be your host and offer a great experience staying in my city centre apartment !
I check my email constantly and endeavour to reply to all emails very promptly as I know it helps you plan ... PLEASE CONTACT ME TO CONFIRM AVAILABILITY BEFORE YOU SEND A BOOKING REQUEST ... Thanks!
This listing is for a private room with a double bed that can sleep two people. Kitchen space and living room space can be made available sometimes as a free extra but is not always guaranteed. There is access to a fridge at all times to keep your drinks cold and the room has tea and coffee making facilities. The bathroom is shared with one other bedroom.
People book through airbnb to get local information and a friendly welcome in your host's home rather than a neutral sterile apartment - I hope you will enjoy your stay in my home with myself and any other guests visiting Dublin. Dublin is a great city - ready to welcome you!
I am 4 minutes walk from the Luas (tram) Red line which is a direct link to the National Convention Centre but I am within very easy walking distance of anywhere in the city centre!
Please check the availability of each listing I offer on it's calender as they can differ ..... thanks! - its always worthwhile to message me anyway ... as I can sometimes have availability at the last minute!
If you would like any hints on what to do around Dublin or indeed in planning an itinerary around just get in touch! I also love history and have a keen interest in photography and am happy to point you towards some Dublin gems!
It's nice to know who might be coming to stay so if you can please fill me in just a little on your group and your overall travel plans!
I live in Dublin city centre in Smithfield just 10 mins walk from the heart of Dublin and it's principal 'boulevard' O'Connell Street and the cool social/bar/restaurant quarter - Temple Bar.
In addition there is a host of shops/restaurants/bars located just steps from your Dublin home from home - see the gallery of pics for some cool places at your doorstep!
I have a lot of experience in hosting people and showing people my city – I love talking about recent irish history and my apartment looks onto the Four Courts building – one of the many historical buildings in Dublin! I can leave you to your own schedule or am happy to suggest good things to do and see, both in Dublin and in the surrounding countryside and beyond .... from galleries and museums to shopping to country / historical walks – just ask – I am happy to point you in the right direction – Dublin awaits you!
There are many tourist attractions such as Jameson Distillery and National Museum, Collins Barracks along with the famous Cobblestone Bar, renowned for irish music and a good pint of Guinness, right at your doorstep! Just across Dublin's principal river, the Liffey, is St. James' Gate - home of Guinness since 1759!

I enjoyed my stay with Rory greatly, he has a beautiful, quiet apartment with everything you might need, in a great area. He's very welcoming and accommodating, and knowledgeable of the local area. Much recommended
Great location and host - perfect for a city visit.
Rory is the most incredible, giving, hospitable and (add another amazing adjective here) host ever! My flight arrived at 5am and he let me check in at a ridiculously early hour!!!!!! Then - since I was in Dublin over the holiday when almost everything was closed, he called to all the local establishments to see where I could get a Christmas dinner. He went out of his way to make sure we knew what was open. I highly recommend him!!!!
Rory was extremely helpful and informative when we had a short overnight stay at his apartment. The bedding was clean and fresh, and access to kitchen facilities was very convienient. We were a little unsure of breakfast availability ,we did notice cereals etc ..no coffee and no fresh bread ..so we decided to go downstairs to the Londis to catch a bite to eat before we left.which was fine..but maybe there could have been a better presentation of breakfast food..however it was no big deal and we left very happy with our stay. The location is very good..and only takes 15-20mins walk to the centre of the city..
Angie, really nice to have you and Barry stay and enjoyed our chat! Regarding the breakfast, I do not offer it to my guests as I found many people were more interested in having a nice breakfast in the many neighbourhood breakfast places I suggest than any simple breakfast I could offer so I reduced my rates and gave people the freedom to explore Dublin more - over breakfast! Hope to welcome you and Barry back again soon!
I had a very nice stay at Rory's. The bed was huge and comfortable and the place was clean. Check-in and check-out were straightforward and Rory has great recommendations for places to eat and drink.
Place was very easy to find. I was there only for 24hrs, but Rory was very prompt on my emails and very informative on things to do in Dublin. The place was clean, room was good for an overnight, nice hot shower, pretty good deal for a short stay, and not too far from O'Connell' street on foot. Overall, a good experience.
The rooms were clean and private, and Rory was an amazing host. If you're considering booking this place, don't hesitate!
Rapport qualité/prix correct
Rory was great, he was extremely helpful. The specific room that we stayed in was pretty average as far as comfort went, but Rory will help you out with whatever questions you may have. The location is pretty nice and it wasn't hard to get to at all.
