Welcome to my apartment, situated near Mundsburg U-Bahn station. My apartment is designed and calming without being ultra-minimalistic; in central Hamburg while being quiet and green; local and friendly but with the glamour and noise of St. Pauli and St. Georg a short ride away.
The guest bedroom faces a quiet street, receives lots of light, and has an overhead view of my neighborhood from the fourth floor. The blue-green colored walls and hard-wood floors create a calm, down-to-earth feeling. There is a desk, a couch and a clothing rack specifically for your use.
The living room has hard-wood floors as well and lots of light from the inner courtyard. I love post-war design, and I have a sitting area with furniture from the 1950’s - 1960’s.
The kitchen is equipped with everything you need to prepare meals and is of course fully available. A pressurized espresso machine and coffee beans are available as well. The refrigerator and dishwasher can be shared.
The bathroom includes a bathtub/shower, toilet, and sink. There is also a washing machine, which you are free to use.
Besides the guest bedroom, bathroom and kitchen my guests a very welcome to use my living room as well. Please note that the apartment comes with me.
Interaction with Guests
I very much enjoy having guests and sharing my apartment with them. Feel free to ask for information or tips anytime.
My local neighborhood is in central Hamburg but boasts lots of small parks, greenery, and canals. One can rent kayaks and rowboats to explore the canals and to travel to the Außenalster. I can recommend several coffeehouses and ethnic restaurants in my area, or there is a terrific bakery and organic grocery store on my street. The Hamburger Meile starts at Mundsburg station; it is one of Hamburg’s largest shopping malls. Gertigstraße and Mühlenkamp, which are streets of boutiques and specialty shops, are very close to my neighborhood. Don’t miss the amazing street market there 3 times a week!
The apartment is very well connected with several bus stations. Mundsburg U-Bahn station is a pleasant walk away or two stops on a direct bus line right in front of my apartment. There are two free bike rental stations nearby. The Außenalster and Stadtpark are just five minutes by bike. The city center is a 15 minute, lakeside bike ride away or within 20 minutes door-to-door by public transit. There is a direct bus line from my neighborhood to St. Georg, with its shops, bars, and (website hidden). Pauli (with the Reperbahn) and Schanzenviertel (with cafés, boutiques, and alternative nightlife) are on the same U-Bahn line as Munsburg station and are therefore an easy and rapid trip. The Hamburg Airport is just 30 minutes away.
Other Things to Note

My name is Dietmar. I work for the City of Hamburg as a preservator of historical buildings and sites. Therefore, I'm familiar with many parts of Hamburg including the history of the city. Of course I know the sights, museums, restuarants and cafes as well. I'm excited to share my city with you.
