YOUR GUEST SUITE

• Very comfy double bed (everyone comments on it!)
• Additional small (and I do mean small) fold-out single
• Luxury linens
• Flat screen TV
• Desk and chair if you need to work
• Adjacent private bathroom with large shower
It's ideal for one adult, two singles (if one's happy to sleep on a squeezy fold-out!) or a couple. (A baby may be welcome for short stays, but the house isn't appropriate for toddlers or older children.)
Port Melbourne is one of Melbourne's most sought-after inner enclaves - a salty-aired, breezy, almost resort-like bayside neighbourhood - yet just 10 minutes by tram from the centre of the city.
Formerly a rough-edged wharf side neighbourhood, today Port is a delightful mix of high and low, old and new, teeming with quirky cafes, every flavour of restaurant or pub and shops of all kinds. Plus the beach, with its kilometres of bike and walking paths meandering along the waterfront, is just a few steps from my front door.
IS IT FOR YOU?
My home is perfect for folks who like to come and go as they please, stay in a friendly, fun, informal environment, get inside local knowledge and help when needed, but for the most part fend for themselves. (No formal B&B services - it's just 'help yourself' here!)
Oh and if you're allergic to dogs, beware - a springer spaniel makes the townhouse home.
A few more Q&As...
Interaction with Guests
HOST INTERACTION WITH GUESTS?
As much or as little interaction as you prefer. I've had quiet guests with their own plans who prefer to keep to themselves. And gregarious ones who jump in and live the local life with me and my congenial neighbours. All are welcome, on your own terms.
WHAT MAKES THE 'HOOD' SO SPECIAL?
If you like a real neighbourhood, not just a place to stay, you'll love Port. It's a friendly, bustling, busy, breezy place where Vince the barista extraordinaire learns what coffee you like and has it ready for you before you ask - folks say hi as you run (or stroll) along the beach - and neighbours drop by for a natter. Plus anything you could want close by, and just a few minutes to the centre of the CBD.
HOW EASY TO GET AROUND?
Couldn't be easier! The tram and 10-minute access to the city is just a few blocks away, with guest metro passes available at the tram stop. Plus rent-a-bikes just out the front door. And easy walking to neighbourhood and bayside delights.
No smoking inside please. Oh and don't leave food anywhere Buddy can snaffle it - he's a relentless chow hound.

As soon as I arrived Linda made sure to make me feel very welcome and at home. Her house is beautiful in the great location of Port Melbourne, right next to the beach. A short distance from the city via public transport, it is a great place to relax after a busy day out seeing all the attractions Melbourne has to offer!
I'd recommend her place to anyone, but be warned you'll struggling to say goodbye to her lovely dog Buddy.
Well!!....where to begin. Right from the moment I knocked on Linda's front door she made me feel not just like a boarder in her home but a very welcome guest. Linda was warm and friendly and had a wealth of information on where everything was in the area. Linda's luxurious home was a welcome haven and a treat to come back to each day. Never a Hotel again for me when I'm in Melbourne..... it will always be at Linda's beautiful comfortable first class home!!
Oh... and I mustn't forget "Buddy" who never says no to a walk along the glorious beach front just metres from your doorstep if you're up for it. Libby
Linda's place was great! Very convenient location, super clean and comfortable. Linda is also a great host, accommodating but not intrusive. Everything was very organised. I look forward to staying with her again.
Had an excellent time with Linda (and Buddy).
A seriously cool and unique architecturally designed house. Plenty of space, lovely comfy bed, great kitchen. Located close to close to the beach and a 5 min walk to the Port Melbourne Tram.
Linda was a great host who made every effort to make my stay comfortable. She had plenty of helpful and interesting advice. We enjoyed several meals together and had plenty of great chats.
Linda accepted me on very short notice and able to accommodate my arrival time in the late evening.
My first airbnb experience but now I can feel confident jumping online and making more airbnb bookings.
Linda is a wonderful host. She anticipates all the basic questions such as parking, local restaurants, and transport, and includes you in the household. The apartment is elegant, and the accommodation private, homely and very quiet. It was also enjoyable to meet a number of her friends; it's clear she is a key member of the local Port Melbourne community. I would recommend her to international and Australian travelers alike for a special experience of this beautiful corner of Melbourne. — Tim Bass
We loved living in Port Melbourne where we had the best of both worlds. From your front door just turn right and you are a two minute stroll from the beach, the boardwalk and the best Italian breakfast in town. Turn left and you can see the bright lights of the Central Business District, just a short tram or bus ride away. Linda was a most generous host; warm and friendly and open, keen to help us enjoy Melbourne and encouraging us to feel at home in her beautiful house. We could not have done better. We should have stayed longer.
I'm a once-upon-a-time New Yorker, transplanted to Australia 25 years ago for a one-year assignment, and never looked back.
I now work from home running my own marketing consulting and creative services business. And my place is a frequent stopping off point for friends from around the globe - or for neighbours just dropping by on the way home from the tram.
You'll find an easy-going home away from home here. I'll show you where everything is, you can help yourself any time, and feel welcome to join in for a drink or a chat. Or if you prefer to stay to yourself, that's cool too.
