At the very heart of Provence, few kilometres away from Aix en Provence, between the Sainte Victoire mountain and the village of Fuveau, lulled by the cicadas, Philippe and Mireille welcome you at their wonderful Bed and Breakfast for a relaxing stopover of one or more nights in their beautiful 18th century windmill or in one of the 4 rooms of their country house.
Our B&B is a French Bastide stands nearby a windmill built in 1766. The mill was formerly known as the mill of the Escassades.
It has been used until it was made obsolete by the steam mill.
The roof collapsed in the early 1950s. It is only ten years later that it was restored by a blacksmith who built a small forge giving the windmill its current name.
The small forge has now disappeared and the windmill has been turned into an accommodation to host visitors wishing to dive into Provence.
One can admire from one side of the windmill the Sainte Victoire mountain painted by Cézanne and from the other side the village of Fuveau, as well as the Sainte Baume mountain near Marseille.
At the foot of the windmill, now live, quiet and serene, under century-old Oaks, two small donkeys, Aubépine and Anthésite du Varon, who would transport you through the authenticity of Provence.
We look forward to being able to advise you about magnificent and yet secretive Provence sites that worth a visit.
Each room of our Bed and Breakfast accommodation has been carefully prepared to provide you with a relaxing and soft atmosphere.
