Please note that the room is next to the BQE, so there is some traffic noise. This is not for you if you are a light sleeper.
Steps away from the best pizza in the country at Lucali's, mouth-watering cinnamon rolls, and dozens of other trendy restaurants and coffee shops. We have a large bathroom, a huge living room flooded with sunlight and great kitchen with everything you need to cook your own meals.
This room has a lovely red-brick wall and a cozy double-bed with a dresser and closet.
You'll be sharing the apartment with me (An actress who splits her time between Paris and New York) and another awesome globetrotter in the third room. We often have friends and family visiting from around the world, so there might be someone staying on the sofa for a few days during your time here. I love to meet new people and give tips on the neighborhood. Everyone in the 4 story building is awesome. The first floor neighbors hold meditation on Sundays and throw great parties in their enormous loft to which all are welcome. (don't worry, noise is never a problem) .The living room is huge with hardwood floors and lots of sunlight. We also have access to an incredible roof with a view of Brooklyn and manhattan. You don't need to bring a thing and will have access to our large living room, all our kitchenware, books and DVD's. The closet is empty, so there is plenty of room for your things. I'll be on hand via e-mail and (website hidden) to answer any questions you have and give you great tips for visiting our awesome city!
Downsides: The front door can be a little tricky to open on your first try, but I'll train you well. No one's had a problem yet. There is no intercom, so you have to go downstairs to let friends in. The room is next to the highway. There's a gentle rumble from the BQE- the highway. I find it quiet and haven't had any complaints on noise level, but it might not be for country bumpkins who need absolute silence.
The room itself is 10x7 ft. The Apartment itself is approximately 750 square feet.
I am looking for an awesome and respectful person who will treat our apartment tender loving care. When you reach out, please give me a little information about yourself and why you're spending time in the area.
*Please note that the apartment is on the 4th floor of a four floor walkup. There is no elevator.
Free Wifi, a great kitchen, large fridge and new friends!

Carroll Gardens is one of the hippest neighborhoods in Brooklyn and has some of the best restaurants in all of New York City!

It takes about 15 minutes to get to the Lower East Side, 25 minutes to Chelsea, 30 minutes to midtown Manhattan and 45-60 minutes to the Upper West and Upper East Sides.

Manisha is very welcoming. The neighborhood is nice.
The stay at Manisha's place was perfect for what we needed. The apartment is very well located in Brooklyn, about 5 minutes walk from F/G trains and surrounded by cools bars and restaurants. The space is very big compared to what one can find in Manhattan. The setup is great for extended stays, as we stayed for a month and another guest in the adjacent room was staying over a month. Manisha is a very kind and respectful host. Would certainly recommend for anyone coming to NYC!
I stayed at Manisha's place, with my boyfriend, for about 5 weeks. It was such a wonderful experience staying with her! She is very accommodating, friendly, and overall a great host. The apartment is in a great location! It's only about a 15 minute walk to the subway and there are a lot of great restaurants nearby. I can't begin to thank her enough for everything!
I stayed at Manisha's place for 5 weeks and she was a great host! Very friendly, welcoming, and quick to respond if I had any problems. She is upfront about the noise from the highway and that it is a 4-story walk-up from her description so I wasn't surprised by anything! Wifi worked great. The neighborhood is very nice- there are lots of young families and cool restaurants and places to explore. The other people in the building were friendly, too. I was nervous about coming to NYC by myself but Manisha definitely made the transition much easier for me. Would definitely recommend!
I lived with Manisha for two months and I had a lovely stay! She is really nice and always ready to help you with many useful tips. The place is very pleasant and shiny, with a view of the Manhattan Skyline. It’s in a quite area with many groceries\restaurants\everything you need around and the Subway not too far away. I highly recommend her!
Manisha was a most lovely and accommodating host, ready to let us in after a delayed flight at 3am!! Super cute place in a very handy location right near a subway station, would definitely recommend this place to anyone and would also stay here again.

About the Host, Manisha
I'm an actress and entrepreneur with a love of everything French. I lived in Paris for 3 years before moving to New York six years ago. I love Russian literature and get rich quick books. On a typical day you can catch me running in Prospect Park, throwing a French soirée in midtown or enjoying Maple Lattés at Gorilla coffee. A friend once encouraged her students to practice "radical hospitality." I think that meeting people from other cultures is one of the most wonderful ways to expand your mind and learn about yourself. I treasure my international friendships and am looking forward to meeting more fellow globetrotters through Air B&B!
