Laugardalur (10 min walk) (Hot Spring Valley) is a major centre for sports and recreation in the capital. In Laugardalur you will find the largest outdoor thermal pool in Reykjavik, Laugardalslaug, in which you can swim all year round. It is very hard to describe the experience of tip-toeing over frozen ground in your swimsuit and immersing yourself in gorgeous water that nature (and some ingenious Icelandic geothermal engineering) has thoughtfully heated to just the right temperature, but the number of returning visitors definitely suggests it’s worth trying.
Laugardalur also has free entry to our beautiful Botanical Garden, with woods, ponds and birdlife. Beneath the branches the lovely Café Flora is a hidden gem.
The Family Park and Zoo in Laugardalur is open all year. The Zoo includes most Icelandic animals, both wild and domesticated, from foxes, reindeer and seals to cattle, horses and sheep. In summer the Family Park offers many rides and play equipment for children of all ages. Outside the summer season the Family Park remains open as a play area.
At the edge of the Laugardalur valley, not far from Laugardalur Arena, is a strangely shaped, domed white building. It is known as the Reykjavik Art Museum’s Ásmundarsafn sculpture collection. This used to be the studio of Asmundur Sveinsson (phone number hidden)), a pioneer of Icelandic sculpture. In addition to his works exhibited inside the museum, a sculpture garden outside contains many of his monumental works.
Reebok Fitness & Supermarket is 5 minute walk away from the apartment.
Cleaning service in included.

you have to clean up after your self,
Rosa and her family were one of the main reasons why our journey in Iceland was such a great pleasure.
All of them were warm and helpful. They welcomed us into their home and life during post-Christmas times.
They gave us good advice about transportation, food, car rentals, helped us when spoken Icelandic was needed. We even had the occasion to share their table and meal a few times, for the best.
We also could learn much about the cultural, political and social background in Iceland thanks to them.
The two dogs were adorable and friendly. A bit noisy but hey, that's how little dogs are !
Concerning the room, it was clean, practical and warm. Access to the bathroom and kitchen are easy and everything is comfortable.
The instructions to get to the house are clear and precise enough.
Very accurate description. Extremely kind and nice family. Great kitchen and bathroom. Easy access. If I ever went back to Iceland I would definitely hope I can stay here again!
Also, there is an amazing restaurant called Saffron very close by, try the Tandoori chicken. Awesome!
Thank you for everything Rosa!
We only briefly met Rosa at our first stay here, but Petur did a very good job of making us feel at home. The neighborhood was quiet and safe. We greatly appreciated the bikes to ride into the city! It was a great location. We could walk just a few minutes to the Reykjavik City Hostel for our bus pick ups. If/when we come back to Iceland, we will definitely be staying with you guys!
Rosa and her family including the dogs were wonderful. They were friendly and full of useful information and also helped us out with information about buses, taxis and local events. The room was very nice! The beds were very comfortable and the house was clean, quiet and friendly. Thank you for having us stay with you!
Rosa and her family were really nice and friendly, though we arrived really late at night it was no problem for her. Room was nice as well and we enjoy our stay pretty much.
