A large, privately-owned and maintained, fully self contained 2 bedroom apartment located in the Reef Club resort in the tropical village of Port Douglas in far north Queensland, Australia.
The main bedroom, which overlooks the pool and directly accesses the balcony, features a queen-sized bed.
The second bedroom features bright and airy windows, a built-in wardrobe and one king-sized/two single beds. There is also a baby porta-cot available at no extra cost: this is a family friendly apartment.
Conveniently located just a 5 minute casual stroll to the beautiful Four Mile Beach and about 10 minutes out of Macrossan Street, the shopping and dining heart of Port Douglas.
This fully-furnished apartment is air conditioned throughout and also has ceiling fans. It features a large balcony for outdoor dining overlooking the resort spa and swimming pool. The balcony also features its own ceiling fan.
Other features include: a galley-style kitchen, with a full-sized refrigerator, two cooking hot-plates, a microwave, a bench-top oven, a toaster and all cooking utensils, crockery and cutlery; a bathroom with a shower over bath; Austar pay-tv; and a DVD/VCR player.
Additional resort facilities include the pool, spa, bbq and alfresco dining area and a coin-operated laundry. Undercover and street car parking is available.
Port Douglas is the gateway to both the world-famous Great Barrier Reef and the ancient Daintree Rainforest. Both are easily accessible from Port Douglas and tours can be arranged from numerous booking agencies throughout town.
Port Douglas is also an ideal base to explore the wider Cairns and Atherton Tablelands districts which abound with numerous attractions.
Port Douglas is about one hour from Cairns and the international airport and the town is regularly serviced by connecting shuttle buses.
Please note, 11 Reef Club is on the first floor and has no lift or ramp access. It meets all the legal requirements for commercial rental properties in the state of Queensland, Australia.
Port Douglas is well serviced by several local shuttle bus companies. There is a bus stop immediately opposite the front of the Reef Club resort.
There is also a local taxi company and numerous tour operators who pick and drop of at the Reef Club resort.
Please contact me at least one hour prior to arrival in Port Douglas so I can greet you and give you the key.
All children must be supervised at all time, including the swimming pool/spa area.
Resort swimming pool/spa area closes at 9pm each night.
No glass admitted to the swimming pool/spa area (plastic drink tumblers provided in the apartment).
No cleaning fee is charged, however the apartment must be left clean and tidy and all rubbish removed. Please leave it as you find it. A cleaning fee of $50AUD will be charged if property not left clean and tidy.
Please respect other guests: noise should be kept to a minimum late at night after 10pm.
Strictly no smoking inside the apartment (smoking permitted on the balcony with doors to the apartment closed).
Staying at Susan's was such an easy and delightful experience. She was very easy to get in contact with and had lots of helpful suggestions and tips. It was also a beautiful and clean place just minutes away from the beach. We would definitely recommend her to anyone! Thanks Susan!
A wonderful place to stay. Susan was fantastic and made booking and staying at the Reef Club quick, easy and relaxing! The apartment its self is in a fantastic location just down the road from the centre of Port Douglas.
The Reef Club Resort is a good facility with a wonderful pool and underground car park.

Our contact with Sue started early on helpfully answering our questions. She and Daryl very kindly showed us around Port Douglas the evening before we moved into their comfy flat. This was a great help in getting us orientated. We also met for coffee one evening and found many interests in common.
The flat had everything needed including a small oven as we like to cook rather than eating out. We just wished we'd had more days to spend in Port Douglas then we would have enjoyed the flat longer. There were several unexpected extras such as towels for swimming, a plate of fruit, tea, coffee and milk and washing powder. Toys were also seen in the cupboard, not that we needed them. But lots of books and magazines were useful. It was great having a fan on the balcony making sitting and eating outside very comfortable. Generally we didn't need the Air conditioning much as the fans were adequate.
The location was excellent with just a short walk to the main street and beach, not that we swam there as we used the pool every day. We think we made the most of our stay taking day trips out to the Barrier Reef, Daintree rain forest and the Sky Rail and scenic rain to and from Karunda.
Port Douglas is a lovely resort with a great atmosphere and unspoilt by the large number of tourists it hosts.
We were made to feel very welcome by Susan in her apartment. Susan kept in regular contact via email over the week we stayed, and answered all my enquiries quickly and without fuss. Extra items like tim tams, fresh fruit, tea and milk were left for us. She also left toys for my two year old to play with plus beach toys. Useful items like beach towels and glad wrap were included too, which was so handy! The apartment was clean and very comfortable and we instantly felt at home. The apartment looks over the pool which is nice at night as it is lit up. You won't regret staying here!
This apartment was everything that we could hope for. It is a beautiful apartment in an ideal location with easy parking in the basement.The balcony looks out onto the swimming pool and BBQ area which are set in well maintained semi tropical gardens.
The apartment itself is spacious, very well maintained and has everything that is needed for self catering. The fridge / freezer is large and the cooking equipment and facilities are of a very high standard. There is a shared laundry room in the basement which has washers and dryers available at a modest cost.
Susan is a lovely host and very helpful. She kindly left a few useful items in the apartment to make our arrival and settling in a little easier.
Port Douglas is about 70 minutes drive from Cairns. It is much smaller and quieter than Cairns but it has good restaurants and parks and is well situated for visiting the rainforest and the Great Barrier Reef as well as a number of other attractions.
If we are ever in Port Douglas again, which is very likely, we will try to book this apartment again. We spent five terrific days at Apartment 11, Reef Club, Port Douglas
About the Host, Susan
I was born in Bendigo, in central Victoria, Australia, where my family owned a winery. Since then I have moved to Port Douglas, with my husband, Daryl, and it is paradise. We enjoy relaxing on Four Mile beach (surely one of the best beaches in Australia) and also we partake in Port's fabulous restaurants and cafes. We also enjoy travelling around the region, especially the Tablelands which is very different to Port and makes for an interesting contrast.
