Private room and private bathroom. Shared kitchen with full use of all kitchen amenities. Full use of laundry. Beautiful gardens. Awesome host.
Comfy queen bed in a cozy room in my cute Culver City home. A great neighborhood in Los Angeles, between the beach and the city. The bedroom can comfortably accommodate 2 guests. The closet is set up for travelers, so you can hang plenty of clothing. There is also an ample dresser so you can really unpack and relax.
The kitchen is yours to use and groceries are available at a nearby Trader Joe's or Supermarket. I love to cook so we may end up sharing space, recipes and even meals. There is a dishwasher, so please use it if you cook or please wash your dishes by hand.
Downtown Culver City is within a 7 minute walk. There is a fab movie theatre there in addition to many restaurants, shops, cafes, two playhouses--The Kirk Douglas and The Actors' Gang, parks, Baldwin Hills Scenic Hike and Nature Preserve and art galleries to enjoy.
The Metro Expo Line is a 2-block walk and can take you directly to USC, Downtown Los Angeles, and many tourist sites. (website hidden)
Disneyland is a 40-minute drive from my home, Universal Studios is a 20-minute drive and Venice Beach is a 15-minute drive.
If you're visiting Los Angeles to work, FOX, Sony, Culver Studios and multiple other production houses, including several internet start ups are all within walking distance and additional large employers are quite nearby as well.
The gardens are one of the best features of this home. You are welcome to spend time relaxing in the sun or under an umbrella outside with plenty of birds singling and squirrels chirping. Diablo, my friendly kitty will certainly be curious of you and will want to show you his squirrel-chasing antics.
The living room and dining nook are community areas and you are welcome to enjoy them.
Guests may borrow my 2 beach cruisers with permission. I can offer rides when our schedules align.
I'm very friendly and I'm happy to interact with you as much or little as you wish. I like to give you lots of space and privacy and I'd also be happy to show you around town if that's what you're looking for.
Culver City is hip and up and coming. Restaurants galore. Central location in Los Angeles while being Westside and close to the beach. Easy access to the Metro Expo line, busses and Uber or Lift. Easy ride to LAX. Culver City has a micro-climate that avoids the beach marine layer while also avoiding the city center's overly hot congestion. The weather almost always better in Culver than on the Eastside. It's clear here with a light breeze and yet warmer than right at the ocean.
Easy access to Metro Expo line. Easy access to bus lines.

We had a great time at Gillian's! The room was spacious, the bed was comfortable, the bathroom was clean and private. Breakfast was good also. Gillian was a treasure and gave us tips on where to go and what to do. We borrowed her bikes and rode to Venice Beach. I was a contestant on Jeopardy and very nervous, but she was helpful and calming and gave me a ride to the studio. I would definitely stay with her again.
Gillian is a wonderful host with a wonderful home, she made my stay in LA during a large work project incredibly pleasant and a wonderful place to return to after working tremendously long hours. Having the ability to rest at such an oasis was a relief. Diablo the Cat was really fuzzy and friendly too.
Perfectly situated accommodations: conveniently close to the Expo station but in a peaceful, friendly residential neighborhood. The lodging has wonderful light, circulation, and scads of charm. Gillian is an excellent, caring hostess, ready to dispense local wisdom and cheering energy.
Gillian hosted my son Chris during his three week stay in LA, while he interned at the nearly Sony Studios. He said she was an excellent hostess, educating him about the local area and assisting him during an illness. Her place is beautiful and in an excellent, safe location which is close to restaurants and many sites of interest. We highly recommend this listing.
Gillian was an amazing host with such an uplifting attitude. I stayed with her for a over a month and have no complaints. The house was in great condition and I loved sitting out in her backyard just to relax. She also helped me with any problems I had and helped me locate various places to go get groceries and also were some of the tourist spots are. Would definitely stay again.
Gillian is an amazing and gracious host! She made every effort to ensure her home felt like my own. She has a happy soul and shows a passion for life that's infectious. She also was incredibly attentive as a host and helped me take care of all my needs large and small while I stayed with her. I lived in Gillian's guest room for one month. The bedroom is clean and bright with a ridiculously comfortable mattress. The bedroom comes with a separate bathroom, which was right next to the bedroom and just perfect for my month-long stay. The bathroom was also very clean and bright. Her home is beautiful and calm, with a gorgeous outdoor patio for breezy summer dinners. Her kitchen has everything you would need and then some, and there is of course a free washer/dryer on-premise. The central location was perfect for getting to all points in LA, and I loved the walkable distance to Culver City's main shops and restaurants. She loaned me her beach cruiser bike too which made for easy shopping trips to Trader Joes. Gillian has an awesome friendly cat named Diablo who I fell in love with immediately. There is plenty of street parking and enough space for an additional car in the driveway. The neighborhood is very cute and quiet - not overly upscale and definitely very safe, lots of kids and families. This is an ideal pick for 1-2 people who want an inviting and comfortable home while in LA, whether for a night, a week or longer. I would come back in a red hot minute!
A wonderful home and an even more wonderful host. Gillian was warm, welcoming, sociable and helpful. Everything was very easy and she made us feel at home and at ease. A great place to stay in LA and easy to get around town from and to the beach.
