This is a lovely two-storey apartment in rustic-chic style. It is located very close (2-minute walk) to the best surf spot in the beautiful and lush beach of Santa Teresa.
The apartment has two bedrooms (each with a double bed), plus two twin size sofa-beds in the living room.
It also has a small kitchen integrated to the living room area, and a bathroom.
Both bedrooms are equipped with A/C.
The apartment occupies the second and third floors of one of the three houses that make up Griss Lodge.
The hotel has a lovely garden, swimming pool and jacuzzi, as well as a barbecue area.
This area has hammocks placed in shaded spots, perfect for relaxation.
We also offer you room cleaning service, linens and towels.
Santa Teresa is a perfect beach for surfers and people who love nature. We have our own surf school and can offer you surf lessons and rental boards.
Once here, we will be more than happy to help you organize many other activities in the area.
We can arrange special packages for long stay. Feel free to ask us. :)
One of the best placed I've stayed at! Close to surf, great hangout by the pool. The cabinas are amazing and the staff super helpful and friendly.
I loved the way this place looks. they did a great job making it look rustic, yet real classy and chick. I had a bit of a problem when i was there, and the staff is genuinely so caring and loving. Its run like a true business. Next time I go to Santa Teresa, i will for sure stay at the Griss. I think it was the cutest place there anyway:) Thank you Griss Staff:)
Nice people but a bit disappointed by the facility. The house was noisy, grungy, and poorly equipped (no hot water, had to request towels, tiny TV... broken, etc.). Beds were doubles (not queens) - could sleep six if you are small people and use the very uncomfortable seating in the living area. A nicely designed house but in need of cleaning up. Over-promised and under-delivered - especially at the price of $120/night.
Was a great location that had a path right to a beautiful beach & we thoroughly enjoyed coming home to a little kitchen at the end of our days in Santa Teresa. It was rough one night as our unit was above another family's unit and they had a child that was not happy for a LONG time. Not much you can do about that though. There was also definitely a mouse hanging out inside that left droppings in our suitcase/on our clothes (pretty gross). The upstairs where the bedrooms were was very clean though with air conditioning to keep comfy at night. Overall, we enjoyed our stay and our time in Santa Teresa. Everyone was extremely friendly and helpful!
We did not realize that it was a long drive and a ferry boat ride and another 90 minute drive after the ferry. We did not account for the slow driving in Costa Rica and we not able to stay here. The hosts were great about offering us to come another day. It was completely our fault we could not get to this home. Costa Rica driving is much slower than what. Are used to in the states so it takes much longer than we think.
The houses are fantastic, there are three of them, we spent two weeks in the middle one, lush greenery around, birds, and full of light if you are staying in the upper house. The whole community is great, and I felt very much at home, despite losing a few things - DO LOCK your stuff, Costa Rica is notorious. I can't imagine the owners (two couples) being any more accommodating and helpful, Selma in particular made me feel exceptionally welcome.
Griss was amazing! A++
The owners/staff were every friendly and accommodating. They helped us call cabs, set up surf lessons, and let us hang around the pool after check out since we had time to kill before our flight. They even called our hotel in SJO for us to ensure the airport shuttle would be there to pick us up when we arrived.
The location is great with only a minute walk across the street to the beautiful beach and a short cab ride to Playa Carmen & Mal Pais. There is also a great collection of restaurants right near the lodge. (Try Alma for dinner and Ginger Cafe for breakfast)
We always felt safe and at home at Griss, and there is a security guard who walks the premises at night to make you feel even more secure.
If you have the chance, take a surf class from Gabriel and Dominique. They are great and very patient with beginners!
I definitely plan on stay with Griss next time I am in Santa Teresa!
We spent a fabulous days in Santa Teresa, the lodge is a dream home, very comfortable, fully equipped and with a cozy family atmosphere, the owners always helpful and attentive. The beach and the surf spot are really close, the pool also really help! I highly recommend this place and hope to return soon!
I have been to Santa Teresa 4 times so far and have stayed at a few places. Griss has been amazing all around, highly recommended. The staff is there to help you at any time, the pool and common area is very welcoming. The house has everything you need. And everything is set back from the dirt road enough to be very close to the surf (public access trail IMMEDIATELY across the road) yet far away from the dust and close enough to the birds and monkeys. Without transportation, plan your grocery shopping as Super Ronny and La Haciendo are equidistant kinda a long walk.
The place is great, 2 minutes from the beach walking, also the staff is very friendly and helpful. Kitchen, near super market, the pool is very nice too. Totally worth the money.
