  • After realizing the place we had originally booked was uninhabitable, we scoured Airbnb around midnight on Friday looking for another spot. We found Andrei and Doreen's place and put in our request, hoping they would come to the rescue. Within hours we had the spot and after a glorious day of playing in the Yuba river we headed to their place. It's just off the highway in an easily accessible spot. A lovely little creek in the backyard created a natural sound track. Shower had good water pressure and kitchen had the basics for preparing a simple dinner. We had plenty of room and enjoyed the clean, comfortable space. We were very happy. Thanks, Andrei and Doreen!

  • The cabin was immaculately clean, and the view as amazing as described. It was easy to find, easy to rent, and comfortable. The house was as described as were the amenities. I was worried about the train noise due to reviews, but it was pretty much a non issue, and my children loved seeing the trains pass by. Very conveniently located close to Sugarbowl and Donner Ski Ranch. And the snow was awesome (nature supplied).

  • We had a wonderful time in the cabin. Less than 5 min drive to Soda Springs, Boreal, Sugar Bowl or Royal Gorge, the kids loved it.

  • Andrei was a pleasure to work with. A great host and a great person. Thanks Andrei.

  • Everything was great.
We even attended the fireworks behind the local store on New Years Eve.
I am inclined to rent again.
    - Good kitchen appliances.
    - Warm house, once you get the fire going. It stayed warm the whole time we were there with the electric heaters.
    - Lots of beds.
    - Elongated toilet. Yes, us males prefer it.
    - Good hot water.
    - Nice faucets in the kitchen and bathroom.
    - Excellent views out the windows.
    - Friendly local store. They were excellent. They invited us to the fireworks.

  • Our kids are first time skiers, and the cabin was perfectly located near Soda Springs. It was a short drive to the Soda Springs: Sugar Bowl and Boreal are just a couple of miles away.

The cabin was in great condition and very comfortable. My questions to Andrei was answered promptly ("how do you turn on the PS2?") with a phone call - that's excellent service!

Note: There are freight trains running through the night, so light sleepers should take note.

  • This place is great. Very easy to get to and great access to all North Tahoe has to offer. We highly recommend staying here; can't wait to come back!!!

  • My friends and I loved the place and everyone had their own bed/futon.

The whole experience was stress free and I would absolutely stay here again if I was in the area!

  • A great spot for a quick weekend getaway from San Francisco. I went up with my girlfriend and another couple for a weekend of hiking and climbing, and this cabin was perfect. Close to some great climbs, right near the Pacific Crest Trail, and surrounded by endless alpine lakes. The kitchen had the essentials and the place was clean and well stocked with blankets and pillows. The one con was the train that passed several times in the night - it's not too far away and might bother you if you're a light sleeper.
Overall an excellent spot. Great basecamp if you want to come and explore the local trails, lakes, and boulders. It seemed like it would also be a perfect ski cabin in the winter as it's surrounded by ski resorts.

  • We stayed here for the convenience to Donner Lake, a 10 minute drive. Be aware that this is an extremely utilitarian cabin with absolutely no frills. It is not meant for romance, cooking or relaxing with family/spouse. It is strictly convenience to get where you are wanting to go in the Tahoe/Donner area. It also sits above another apartment so there is ample noise from below (we could here the TV late into the night) as well as freeway noise if windows are left open. The living room futons (3) are very thin and not comfortable at all for sleeping, unless you have a cushy sleeping bag to throw on top. This cabin is great for people who don't need comfort and just need a place to crash.
