This is a perfect quiet retreat!! Serenely set amongst rice paddies in the countryside, and only 10 minutes by scooter to the relaxed vibes/surf atmosphere of Echo Beach, this place is amazing! Away from the hustle and bustle of Seminyak and Kuta, but near enough to everything to make it very convenient. No mosquitos in this area, which we were amazed by. The house is impeccably well maintained by Komang and his wife. Highly recommend this villa for your stay in Bali. Having a scooter available to rent for a reasonable daily rate was also very helpful and we took advantage of that several times. Jacques and Linda are very warm and welcoming and went out of their way to make our stay enjoyable.
NOTE, cab drivers in Bali are noticeably very unknowledgeable in general about areas outside of the main tourist hubs, so take this with a grain of salt, but this place is not easy to explain to a cab driver how to get to and they often refuse to use your GPS on your phone even if you insist. It is not too far of a drive from the main areas, which is good so that it doesn't take too long once they know where they are going at least. One thing that helps, direct them towards Jalan Tiyingtutul as that is the main intersection where you drive up towards the villa. The road changes name to Jalan Veteran, but more cabbies are familiar with Jalan Tiyingtutul it seems. None have any idea where Jalan Veteran is. This is not at all a negative remark on this property as you will find this problem if you stay anywhere outside of the main hotels in Kuta, but just be aware and you'll be fine. I recommend renting a car for the day with a driver so there is no time wasted and less frustration! :-)
The house was really nice and Komang and his wife who live on the property were really nice people who look after you very well. Komand and his wife hardly speak English. With a translate app we could get by. There son is really sweet and played with our kids. We had a great time at the house. I would suggest that some things are getting a bit old and need replacement especially around the pool area. It is very wet in Bali and a lot of cushions and bean bags were full of mould and some chairs around the pool were broken. This house was great for us but you have to be ok with not having a lot of privacy. Komang and his wife and their son walk in and out of the house all day cleaning up and doing gardening etc. This house is ideal if you want to relax and not go anywhere. This was our first time in Bali so we did not realise that 10 km on the map could take over 1 hour in the heavy traffic. Trips to Seminyak or Kuta took more then and hour and to Ubud as well. If we wanted to go to Canggu for a coffee or dinner we had to go by car as well for at least 15-20 minutes. Nothing is walking distance. Komang and his wife cooked for us a couple of times and that was really nice good food for a nice price. We also loved the view over the rice fields and having space. Overall we had a great time and the WIFI worked great which was good.
First of all i would like to thank Jack, Indra, Komang and his family for the finest vacation. This villa surprised to be even more awesome than it appears on photos.
When we arrived Jack took us to a short tour around villa and it was nicely big for six people. Jack provided all the information necessary including taxi number, food delivery, wifi pass, etc. There are also cell and local phones available on villa.
All the time we spent on villa was supported by Komang and his family. They helped us to get bikes, order taxi, always looked the villa to be clean and fresh and even served us a dinner with grilled fish and chicken. I will not lie if i say that Jimbaran sea food is suck comparing to that fish :)
Wonderful views, a plenty of green, fresh air, sun and only 7 mins on bike to Batu Bolong - it was like in heaven.
P.S. Even minigolf included! :)
P.p.s. there are two sweet dogs in the villa, you will be surprized to know its nicknames
I would definately recommend this place to stay
wonderful reception from jacques et indra and so much help from komang and his wife (don't hesitate to ask them to make a meal, you will be delighted as we were) a great place to stay in bali if you want peace in and around the villa, central enough to tour the south and central bali, we thoughrouly recommend their place and would return without any doubts
