  • Vicki was wonderfully accommodating, responding to my last-minute request very quickly. The room has a huge king-sized bed with mosquito net, sufficient bathroom and kitchenette. It's a nice, big space. The seating on the private porch was also quite nice and I spent many hours out there! There are a few warungs within walking distance for good, cheap eats, but it's a hike to the center of town and there are no taxi divers hanging around. You really need a motorbike to get around.

  • We were met at Denpasar by Ricky (Nyoman) as arranged with Vicki. That was so great, to arrive and already have a friendly face to greet us! Ricky drove us right in to the property where the bungalow was located. The bungalow was all ready for us with the key in the door-perfect for us to just hit the bed and sleep after our big day travelling. The little kitchen was cute, but the most we used was the fridge and electric kettle, as with Mades Warung two doors down and several more warungs in short walking distance, cooking for ourselves was unnecessary-and such economical prices against our Aussie dollar. I was in heaven-no cooking! We had no problems walking the road back in to the main street of Ubud-about an easy half an hour and you get a real feel for the locals doing this. A few nights we hired a driver (there are tons of them about, ready and able and friendly) to drive us back to the bungalow (to avoid having to tackle all the broken footpaths in the dark-care is certainly needed but that is how it is!) for the princely sum of $5 Oz, comfy and cheaper than an injury! There is heaps to see and do within walking distance of the bungalow, but there are also lots of day trips and special places to visit too, and Vicki and Ricky can always help you with that if you like-they are both very friendly and helpful. The other guests made our stay even more memorable, with exchanges of adventures past and present. Being out of the main hubbub suited us fine, it was just what we had hoped for, but still close enough to central Ubud to walk if you want to. As applies to most populated places in Bali, motorbikes are many, and the traffic starts early in the day-so a good set of earplugs will serve you well, wherever you choose to stay!
Ron and I really enjoyed our stay at Taman Sari Guesthouse. All the staff are lovely and friendly, accommodation very clean and tidy and exactly as shown on the website, great food nearby, local "village" feel, away from the central madness, but close enough to walk to Ubud when you choose to.

  • Vicki and her staff are gems.
The place was out of town in a sweet village with
great food nearby and an easy trip by motor scooter
to Ubud. Vicki was warm, welcoming, and
extremely kind. She was very helpful with details
about how to orient to the place re transport, food,
    short trips near by, etc.

  • Taman Sari is a wonderful and special place. Accommodations are charming, spotlessly clean, the staff couldn't be nicer or more helpful. The Warang next door serves excellent food. It was so nice to be outside of the hustle and bustle of main street Ubud, but only a 10 minute bicycle ride to all that crazy fun. Loved getting to know the village and my wonderful Balinese neighbors. It is also down the street from an excellent organic restaurant, Abe-Do.
Vicki Noble and Nyoman Parta are warm, kind, and helpful hosts.

  • I really enjoyed my stay in Bali. The pictures match how the place looks in reality. Vicky is a very helpful person, she was responsive to my emails during booking process. The bungalow is located in walking distance from the center of Ubud, the road next to it is as bit busy in the morning and in the evening but as long as you keep your windows closed, it's all good!

  • We had a great time at Vicky's place. The crew was always cheerful and helpful. The restaurant beside the house is great. Vicky was also always ready to help. Thanks so much for everything. Marcello, Mariana and Josh.

  • Taman Sari house is a lovely place and the staff are so sweet!!! It is an especially great place to land when first arriving to Bali as it is very close to Ubud and down a beautiful street. It is clean and artistic, and I felt very well accommodated. Thanks Taman Sari!!

  • We loved Taman Sari!! We stayed in this beautiful bungalow for two months. Our stay surpassed our expectations in every way:
The bungalow is spacious enough for a couple to feel completely comfortable, the terrace is large and well-furnished with a generous dining table and comfortable chairs for reading and a big ceiling fan so it's like another large room. The bungalow is beautifully decorated, the built-on little kitchen and the bathroom with tub are perfectly serviceable. Entertainment systems leave nothing to be desired: WiFi, dozens of TV channels and a huge DVD library available.
Most of all we appreciated and enjoyed the people at Taman Sari: Vicki's generous and genuine hospitality created such a positive atmosphere, and the four TS girls unexpectedly and completely relieved us of every single house-keeping chore, and they kept our compound up to standard on the ritual and offerings front. Thank you! The other guests felt like neighbours and it was always a real pleasure to come home to our peaceful oasis.
Being in a neighbourhood, a bit outside the center, felt a bit like being part of village life- Do know though, that walking to the center of Ubud will take about 20 minutes each way. (We rented a motorcycle by the month and were very happy to have our own wheels for such a lengthy stay.) There are several good restaurants within only a few minutes walk of the house too.
Please also note , that although the street that runs next to the house is essentially a lane, it's much-used by the villagers mornings and evenings.
We miss Taman Sari, and can warmly recommend staying there to everyone looking for a peaceful, friendly home from home.

  • I had lovely stay at Vicki's place. I stayed in her bungalow, big comfortable bed with white cotton net (for mosquito) and Bali quilt, i felt like a princess! had kitchen and bathroom all to myself, nice outside area too. It is 20 min walk to the centre Ubud (5min on scooter) the country road to the centre is dark at night so i planned my day to get home before dark. i took a bike taxi home if im coming back late. bike taxis are everywhere and easy to get. people in the area are all very kind, and the area is very safe. I met nice people at Vicki's place and in the neighborhood. Some become very good friend. I'm glad that i stayed at Vicki's and not central area, the bright stars in the pitch dark sky...so beautiful! ill never forget.

  • A lovely, spacious bungalow on a quiet road in Ubud. The staff waited for me as I was late to check in because of a tour. The room was clean and very nice! The other guests were also very welcoming. Also, be sure to try the Warung 2 doors down, delicious grilled food! I wish i could have stayed longer... next time Vicki! :D
