What I love about my neighborhood is quiet, is in the middle of city, is not noise and chaotic as the downtown,
There are many colectivos( taxis that u share the space with other people) the cost of the colectivos is one sol and fifty cents per person ( 1.50)
Smoke outside, no eating in the rooms, Do not trough the paper inside the toilet, if you break something you will have to pay for it, hallway light must be off if nobody is in there
Luis was a genial host and helped show us a good time. I wouldn't recommend staying here if you're wanting to wander and explore on your own, since you'll have to take a long cab ride to get anywhere interesting. It's probably also best if you're with a friend or two. Also note that when you pay for something like his Street Food Tour, what he's doing is just driving you to a spot, showing you what's there, and letting you buy your own -- not what you might expect if you've done food tours in other cities.
Luis was a fantastic host! My husband and I had a great time! Luis provided a full service tour and the accommodations were quite comfortable. We had a massive room with a queen bed and private bathroom. Everything was immaculately clean. We opted into the tour package which was 130 soles per person in addition to the Airbnb. We arrived at about 2;30pm and Luis picked us up from the bus station, brought us back to the house, let us get settled in, and then took us to Huacachinna for sand boarding and dune buggying at sunset. He arranged everything for us. After that adventure, he took us on a street food tour where we tried everything from cow heart to picarones. He also took us to a chocolate place with caramel and chocolate covered pecans that was delicious. The street food & chocolate were in addition to the tour (we spent like 30 soles between the two of us and had a massive amount of food). In the morning, his mom prepared a breakfast feast with fresh fruits, raw pecans in the shell, pomegranates, a potato and meat stew-like dish, spaghetti with a queso-like sauce, and fresh passion fruit juice. After breakfast, we then went on a bike ride to a few vineyards for tours and tastings. At Tacama, there was a Paso Horse show too. Luis and his family were extremely accommodating and truly, wonderful hosts.
This was my first time using Airbnb. Luis Ica adventures was recommended by a Canadian couple who I met while trekking to Machu Picchu and I'm so glad I listened to them. Luis has a beautiful home and a lovely, very welcoming family. He was happy to pick me up from the bus station. He took me to try local street food, visit Paracas national reserve, sandboarding at Huacachina, Nasca lines, and 2 local wineries. I didn't have to worry about a thing. He organised everything. I loved Ica. Thanks to Luis I got to experience a lot more than what is reccomended in the travel guide books.
My boyfriend and I stayed with Luis for one night and it was a great experience! His airbnb was clean, spacious and safe and he was a wonderful host! I highly recommend the adventure tours he offers (Huacachina, Paracas), as he will take care of booking everything so you can just show up and enjoy! Luis also helped us experience REAL Peruvian cuisine, taking us off the beaten path to try great traditional dishes. Thanks Luis, for a wonderful start to our vacation in Peru :)
Luis's place was great-- clean, large, hot shower, and great water pressure. I wanted the one that offers local experiences and he couldn't be any better. He took me around to 2 wineries, local Peruvian restaurant/street food, Huacachina to enjoy sand dune buggy and sand boarding. The price for all the tour wasn't included in the Airbnb listing but it sure was worth the additional price. It seems like a lot of travelers come to Ica and enjoy and learn only the very touristy aspects. So it's worth noting that having a local friend be your personal guide is such a huge gamechanger in your travel. Hope all of the Ica travelers get in touch with him and realize the same thing.
Amazing guide and host! We almost hadn't to walk at all. He picked us at the bus terminal and took us to all the tours we wanted to.
We had a lot of fun at his place. Degustations, walks in the morning, a hell lot of fruits, Pisco Sour.
The room was also clean and comfy. Totally recommend it.
Wow! The unexpected was a good unexpected let me assure you. Luis stayed late to pick us up from a late bus from lima. He drove us back to the house and we slept shortly after. The room was great clean and comfortable with nice shower. We only had two days in Ica and it was last minute so we where unsure of what to do, I thankfully excepted Luis's offer to give us his tour. He had everything planned and we didn't have to make any decisions or reservations, or worry about transportation. It was very relaxing to sit back and enjoy the scenery and experiences. He was also very patient and let us enjoy at our pace. I learned a lot from him about the agriculture of Peru. I don't want to reveal the unexpected for your trip so I won't say more, but you will have fun! P.s. if your Español is not good, his English is great!
