The Space

Local Artists have transformed this original Art Gallery into an interesting and innovative large Studio Apartment. (Please note there is also the house available for more guests aligned with this listing) They both have original Art Works throughout and an eclectic mix of brand new furniture and mid century original pieces.
The overall feel is friendly, Arty, interesting, comfortable, and is slightly different and personalised compared to the ordinary corporate look.
It is completely self contained, comfortable and cosy and private at night, Brand new QS bed and all good quality furnishings and fittings. The kitchen is fully equipped with dishwasher and washing machine, coffee plunger, there is a large flat screen, DVD iPod dock, books, brand new bathroom and a dressing room with hanging space.
It is within easy walking distance of all attractions, City, close to Salamanca Place, the Market, Harbour, bars, coffee, galleries, restaurants etc, and you can walk to the ferries and buses for MONA..
There is also a two bedroom townhouse in similar style also available for a larger number of guests with comparison rates considering the extra accommodation
Bus stop 9 stops across the street for local and airport buses

Check In
  • We 'checked in' at 1pm..Anita met with us, she was very clear and precise assisting us as well, with information + ideas - we'd planned a day trip the next day..
The apartment was very easy to live in - central - clean and well kept…there were little extra's - such as lovely tea's and some chocolate treats…milk in the fridge…and kitted out very nicely
We really enjoyed our stay and will recommend

  • We had a lovely time at Anita's in Battery Point. She (email hidden), and her apartment was the perfect place for our short stay in Hobart. We came down for the start of the Dark Mofo festival, and although there was some very chilly weather at the time, we felt very comfortable and warm in the apartment. The location is great – a very short and picturesque walk down to Salamanca. I'd happily recommend a stay here, and would come again.

  • It was very easy to communicate with Anita - she responded promptly. We met Anita at the property in the early afternoon and she showed us around and gave us some great tips for local eateries. The property is very comfortable and there's a great feeling of space - with a sleeping area, a dining area, a lounge area and a well equipped kitchen. There's also a great variety of artwork on the walls - so there's always something interesting to look at. The property is only about 10 minutes' walk from Salamanca Place where the Saturday morning market is held. It's a pleasant walk there and on to the docks and the city. We also enjoyed walking around the side streets of Battery Point to look at the variety of architectural styles, from small wooden workers cottages to the grander houses built of stone or brick. We'd definitely recommend Anita's place as a comfortable and convenient base for a trip to Hobart.

  • We loved Anita's place! Excellent location with a nice walk to the markets and great restaurants nearby. The decor is lovely, the bed is comfortable, and we appreciated her hospitality - allowing us to arrive and leave at any time of the day, and providing yummy snacks, tea, and orange juice.

A few tips for future guests:
    1. Make sure the window above the front door is closed if staying during a colder month (it's quite high up and difficult to close on your own)
    2. Arriving past ~4:30pm allowed us the benefit of finding an all day parking spot as someone left for work. Otherwise, parking might be tricky.
    3. If you have any restaurants your keen to try, make reservations in advance as places book-up

  • Anita was very friendly and we had no problems getting in touch. The Gallery apartment was lovely. Very comfortable and spacious, and in a beautiful area of Hobart. We were within walking distance to everything we could want, Mona ferry, Salamanca market and great food. We'd definitely recommend to others wanting a great spot to stay in Hobart. Thanks, Anita. I'm sure we'll be back.

  • Wow...we are so impressed with Hobart. Staying at Battery Point at Anita's apartment was fantastic. We walked to dinner each evening to local restaurants and in the mornings to Salamanca and the waterfront. Anita and her family are artists and we got to enjoy living amongst their artwork. It is a creative environment with how the apartment is decorated. The apartment is situated in a quite location, very clean and cosy with everything provided for a fabulous holiday. Many thanks Anita!

  • We had a wonderful time in Anita's gallery apartment. Very spacious, and it was great to be surrounded by so many artworks. Very comfortable bed, attractive furnishings, well appointed kitchen (although the many tempting cafés and restaurants nearby meant we did not do much home cooking). Recommend Jackman and McRoss for scallop pie, cakes and pastries, Environs for coffee and Prince of Wales for pub food. There are many others we will sample next time.

Hobart's CBD, the MONA ferry and Salamanca Place are within easy walking distance.

We highly recommend this apartment. Clive and Johanna
