The Space

This is the perfect option while you are in the area, whether you're here on business, pleasure, or both!

This is a brand new home, completed in June 2012 so everything is state of the art and energy efficient.

The spacious 3rd floor will be all yours, complete with a bedroom, bathroom, living area and deck.

In the cozy bedroom, there is a full-size bed and in the living area there is a pull-out sofa that converts to a queen size bed.

The deck overlooks the fountain and will be an awesome place to drink your morning coffee or sip a glass of wine in the evening. A light breakfast of yogurt or cereal and fruit is provided as well as coffee or tea.

The space has a mini-fridge, coffee maker and electric tea kettle, but feel free to use the kitchen downstairs with me if you would like something heartier!

WiFi access is provided as is AT&T U-verse television in the living area. If you need it, there is a phone for free local and national long distance calling. Sorry, international calls are not included in the plan.

The geothermal HVAC system provides each floor with its own thermostat for individualized heating and cooling comfort.

The location is ideal!! Located in the heart of the Energy Corridor at the intersection of I-10 and Beltway 8, you are just a mile away from CityCentre, jam-packed with restaurants, shopping and entertainment.

If you're a business traveler, you will also be just minutes away from the energy companies located along I-10 and in the Westchase area. Both George Bush and Hobby airports can be easily accessed via Beltway 8 as well.

The house is located in a gated community on a quite street, so you have something of a sense of being in the country while still maintaining the conveniences of the city. The private gate allows visitors access after dark via a key pad. If you have a car, you will be able to park in my personal garage. The automatic garage door opener also opens that gate after hours. The community includes a jogging trail and is approximately a mile from the 5 mile bike path along Addicks Reservoir.

The rate quoted includes the 17% nightly room tax required by the city, county and state. Sorry, but the city must get its share.

It is a beautiful home and community and I look forward to being your host! Please contact me with any questions.

Interaction with Guests

Since I live in this house I will be present during your stay and available to answer questions or talk as little or as much as you like. Your space will be private to you so if you don't feel like talking to anyone, you are welcome to head up stairs and relax. Alternatively, if you feel like a chat, I usually have no problem thinking of something to say. ;-)

Getting around

Houston is an automobile town! Though there is a bus stop right outside the gate of the community, riding buses in Houston is not the fastest way to get around. It is highly recommended that you rent a car. Also, my garage is too small for pickup trucks or large SUV's and street parking is limited and discouraged by the community, so please keep that in mind as you plan your reservation.

Other Things to Note

Use of my garage is welcomed. However, pick up trucks and large SUV's may find it difficult to fit in the garage and street parking is limited as well as discouraged by the community. If you are renting a vehicle, please keep this in mind.

  • Candace is an excellent host. She is very helpful and keeps a very nice place. The room (really third floor flat) is a suite all to oneself. It is very spacious and the balcony overlooking the pond is beautiful. I enjoyed my month stay and would come back again whenever I am in Houston.
The washer, dryer, and ironing are modern and latest high tech equipment can offer. Candace was very nice about explaining how to use them properly.
The kitchen is also nicely setup to suit anyone.
Please pay attention to Candace’s note on small cars only. The development has little space for on street parking and the garage can only fit small/med size cars.
Note: Candace – Thank you for your hospitality, I enjoyed my stay and look forward to staying with you again.

  • I enjoyed my first AirBnB experience and Candance is such a great host with a great place! It definiately beats staying at any hotels in town! I would rate this experience more than 5-star if I can :).

  • My very first airbnb stay and that bar has been set very high thanks to Candace! Amazing stay and even better company. I needed a reasonably priced place to stay for 4 days in Houston and there is no way, in any town anywhere, I would have found a better place to stay than at Candace's. Her Town-home is beautiful and you feel like you are in your own one bedroom apartment. I actually think the whole upstairs that you have may be larger than my one bedroom apartment. Candace is very accommodating, she called me one day before my arrival date to check on what I typically have for breakfast and what type of creamer I use in my coffee so to make sure everything I needed was there on my arrival. Upstairs you have your own apartment, basically. One bedroom, living room with tv and cable, bathroom, mini fridge, and a large outdoor patio. Oh and this mini fridge has sodas and waters and NO HOTEL PRICED SNACKS OVER HERE, ALL COMPLIMENTARY FROM CANDACE. Speaking of Candace, what an amazing and sweet person. Unfortunately I could not spend more time chatting with Candace because of my busy schedule, but I was lucky enough to go out to eat with Candace one night. If you are an avid traveler and love hearing stories about world travels, Candace has some great ones. I've never been to Houston and I love trying new things. Candace took me to a delicious Turkish restaurant near Rice University and we had a great time chatting about travels and life. This was the perfect place to stay and as my first airbnb stay, the bar has been set Very High.

  • This is, hands down, the best AirBnb in Houston! I almost feel inclined not to leave a review of this fantastic place since it may result in less availability in the future...
Everything was just perfect. Candace was an extremely kind and attentive host that took care of everything that I could think of and more. She even got me a big bowl of blackberries which I happily snacked in front of the TV!
The whole place was spotless. The bed and linens felt new and clean and had a fresh smell. The patio with the view on the fountain is truly amazing. The bathroom was in perfect condition when I found it.
This will be my absolute 1st choice for future travel to Houston. Without a doubt I would recommend this AirBnb to others (however only if they don't book it when I want to :-) ).

  • By far the best airbnb experience I have had to date. Candace is an extremely warm and hospitable host, and her house is a lovely retreat from the endless highway-scape that is Houston. The house is European style with three modern floors. The top floor is completely yours, with sitting room, bathroom, bedroom, kitchenette and private balcony. Ground floor has a larger kitchen that is available for your use (I never took advantage of this but I should have). Overall, the house was extremely clean, modern and airy, and the housing development was very quiet and pleasant. Candace herself is an extremely worldly person. I wish I had more time to chat with her. Really enjoyed trading travel stories with her and discussing food. What a dynamic person she is! Although I stayed at her abode on a work trip, I would definitely return with my wife for a leisure trip. Her house is an ideal launching pad for any stay in Houston!

    Response from Candace:

Wow! You get the my award for my BEST guest yet! Lol! Seriously, thank you so much for kind words. I hope we have a chance to meet again and you and your wife would be more than welcome to stay here!

  • My stay was Candace was far better than I could have hoped for. Not only is the space beautiful, but Candace made it feel like home. The home is close to everything you will ever need and the gated community where it is located is gorgeous. Candace was fun and very helpful. The rented space is amazing and is as large as single apartment. The huge deck overlooking the fountains was the perfect place to unwind after work or enjoy a cup of coffee in the morning. I will definitely recommend this bnb to anyone visiting Houston.

  • Candace's place is perfect to stay at! You cannot ask for more. Clean, spacious and fully furnished. Moreover, Candace is super nice and respectful. If you want to stay on your own, She won't bother you. If you want to have an interesting conversation with somebody instead, she is always 'IN'. Strongly recommend.

Hi, I'm Candace! I love traveling as well as meeting new people. I love laughter and good food, reading and good movies, and my cats Teddy Bear and Edith Ann. I also love yoga, cycling and walking but don't like rudeness, yappy dogs, beets or liver. My favorite quote, "Some people say the glass is half full. Some people say the glass is half empty. I say, "Are you going to drink that?" ;-) Being from the southern US, hospitality is bred into my bones. I want my guests to feel warm and welcome and yet have a sense of privacy and peace and quite. I work in Commercial Real Estate, that's my day job, so I know Houston better than many native Houstonians. (I have lived here since 1977.) As a result, I can give my guests some great tips on what to do, where to go and how to get there. My fun job is teaching English as a second language at Lonestar College so I love meeting people from all over the world. If you're a foreign visitor and your English isn't perfect, no worries. We will figure it out. Safe travels and I look forward to welcoming you to my home.
