With one double bed and three single beds, this apartment is perfectly suited for families. It also has an expandable dining table with five chairs, perfect for eating. Located at the very top of our building, it has a great view of Dublin's skyline.

The Space

This contemporary styled apartment can comfortably sleep five people and yet can accommodate up to seven and is situated just two minutes’ walk from the Temple Bar district. Here you will enjoy being in the very heart of Dublin's city centre, next to many of the well-known pubs and restaurants and just a short walk away from all the main attractions.

This comfortable apartment is situated on the third floor of a beautiful Georgian building (without a lift) and has a large living room with one double sofa-bed and a 32" flat screen television with cable channels. The kitchen is fully equipped with a microwave, a stove/hob, a fridge and everything you need for preparing your meals. There is also a dining table for eating in if you decide to stay at home.

There are two spacious bedrooms, one with a double bed, a bed side table and an en suite bathroom with a shower. The other bedroom has three single beds, making it an ideal family apartment. Each bedroom has a wardrobe with ample storage for your clothes. There is also a second bathroom with a shower.

For your comfort and convenience there is gas central heating and free Wi-Fi internet access throughout the flat. We also include a hair dryer, iron, washing machine and towels as standard in the apartment with ironing boards and travel cots available on request. There is also secured, gated car parking available in a lot behind our main building at a cost of €15 per night.

Take a short stroll along the River Liffey and in just 10 minutes you will arrive at the Jameson distillery, one of Ireland’s iconic brands. Hop on the Luas tram and in five stops you will arrive at the famous Guinness brewery.

Whether you are travelling to Dublin for business or pleasure, this property has everything you need for an enjoyable trip.

Guest Access

This is a private, self-contained apartment. The main front door is shared with four other apartments in the building and has its own private intercom system.

Interaction with Guests

I interact with my guests as much as possible! I don't reside in the listing but I do see my guests as much as I can, especially as my office is located out back in the car park behind the building.

The Neighborhood

The neighbourhood is vibrant, full of tourists, and is located just over the Ha'Penny Bridge and around the corner on Middle Abbey Street. There are pubs on every corner, restaurants everywhere and the pedestrian-only shopping district is only 100 m away.

Getting around

The main bus corridor on O'Connell St is only 200 m away and the tram line is on our doorstep. There is no need to even take public transport since everything is within a 20 minute walk! We also offer parking in our car park behind the building at a cost of €15 per night.

Other Things to Note

Check-in is from 3-5:30 pm. If your arrival time is outside of these hours then you *must* inform us so that we can make alternative arrangements for collection of the keys.

Please give us your approximate arrival time so that we can know when to expect you. It always helps to know when we can expect people!

When you arrive, please come to our main building at number 50 Middle Abbey Street for check-in. We are located directly opposite the main entrance to Arnotts department store, just look for the light green house with the orange door.

Ring the bell when you arrive; if I don't answer within a minute or two, just go next door to The Abbey Hotel and ask them to ring me.

Overall Guest Satisfaction

Check In
  • Excellent apartment - very central but also very quiet.
Nancy was very helpful despite being under pressure from numerous check-outs.
    Will definitely be back

  • Had a lovely stay with three of my friends at Nancy's Dublin apartment. It was an easy walk across the Liffey to the temple bar area and within walking distance of the major sites. Nancy was great for good tecommendations as well. Street itself was a little loud, but the price and condition of the house was perfect.

    Thanks for a great stay!

  • Good service. Central location. Nancy gave us some information about Dublin. Nancy helped also with the booking of a guide with car.

  • “Not for Americans.. unless you enjoy no hot water, no internet and heroin alleys”

We expect hot water & the internet to work & that apparently is wrong according to Nancy. I would not recommend this place at all. When we booked this location we were told that our apartment is on the 3rd floor of the building with no elevator. We had 5 people and 10 bags! We were assured by Nancy that they would be there to carry our bags up. A day before we arrived we were told that we would be arriving too late (8pm) for them to carry our bags up so we were on our own. The furniture is old and cheap. The apartment was hot and the window in the living room was broken. The carpet was old and there was a huge hole in the floor in the bathroom and very old and installed poorly. We were leaving early in the morning for a tour and we all needed to take a shower. There was NO HOT WATER. The towels are paper thin and very rough. I e mailed Nancy and got no response. We toughed through it and were on our way. When I finally heard back from Nancy she said that “the hot water is turned on at 6am. You should have told me you were leaving early and I would have turned it on earlier”. So I guess it was our fault! We were then given a lecture on how as Americans we expect too much. We expect hot water and the internet to work. Nancy told us that Americans get up too early and she prefers having European tenants cause they get up late and don’t care if things go wrong. Then we had no internet. She said that she called the internet provider but they would have to send an engineer and it could take 2 weeks. So we were out of luck with internet. No apology, no discount, just a shoulder shrug and excuses. She said that the internet goes in and out all the time and that you have to share it with other people in the building. Why wasn’t that in the listing??

We asked her for a late check out and she agreed as long as we paid 30 Euros for it and to put it on the table or in the microwave. The day we were leaving she came to the apartment early in the morning to collect the 30 Euros. She thought we would not pay it because of the problems we were having. At that time she told us that the internet was hacked. We were so worried that our private information had been stolen! Again, no apology, no offer for a discount. Just a shoulder shrug and an "Oh well” attitude. As an added touch to the area, at 11am we saw a person shooting another person up with heroin in the neck in an alley on the same street.

    Response from Nancy:

I'm so sorry that you were unhappy with your experience at our apartments.
I did try my utmost best to accommodate your needs during your visit and I
wish that you had had a more pleasant stay. As far as your review goes, I
did notice that there were a few things that you had omitted, perhaps as an

I did fix the window and the hot water right away on the first morning of
your visit. I received your email, went straight to your apartment, had the
window fixed and changed the timer on the hot water so that it would come
on earlier to facilitate your early rising. I also did respond to your
emails; however, I received on average 15 emails a day from you and your
friends and didn't have the time to answer each and every one. As such, I
would pick one or two emails a day and answer them. It was still the height
of our busy season when you stayed with us and I'm sorry but when things
are that busy, I don't have time to answer 15 emails per day about one
apartment. Especially not when we also have dozens of other guests with
similar needs and wishes as well.

I think that perhaps you misheard what I said to you. I would never, ever
give a guest a lecture on anything, especially not expectations, for that
would be unkind. I know that I did have several conversations with you that
were filled with laughter and humour but I feel that these conversations
were somehow misinterpreted in your review.

As far as the internet goes, I informed you that it would take two days for
the engineer to arrive, not two weeks. I also rang them four times on your
behalf in an effort to try and get it sorted before you checked out. In the
end, it turns out that it was a simple problem and was fixed quite easily.
I just wish that we could have fixed it during your stay and not after you
    had already left.

I never would have thought that you wouldn't have left the late check-out
money; I simply chose to call around to your apartment to see how you were
doing and to give you an update on the internet situation. I then thought,
'Well, as long as I'm here, I may as well get the late check-out money off
them,' and then asked you for it. It saddens me to think that you
misconstrued my intentions in this manner.

As far as not liking Americans goes, I honestly don't see how that could be
possible when I myself am an American. To not like my own people would be
an insult to my countrymen and kinsmen. I understand that, after 18 years
of living in Ireland, I may not sound like an American, but I still am one.
I may not divulge this information to everyone but I truly understand and
respect those from my own country.

I hope that you will continue to travel and have better experiences on
Airbnb and elsewhere. Hopefully one day our paths will cross again and this
time we will come to a mutual understanding. Until then, thank you for the
time that you took to leave your review. I appreciate your input.
